Job Description: Sales Executive


Position: Sales Executive

Reports to: Director


Job Summary:

The Motor Carrier Sales Executive is responsible for generating new business and managing new accounts within the transportation and logistics industry. The primary focus of this role is to identify, approach, and secure new clients, as well as to develop and maintain long-term relationships with new customers. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the motor carrier industry, excellent sales skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.


#### Key Responsibilities:


- **Business Development:**

 - Identify and target potential clients within the motor carrier industry.

 - Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve company goals and revenue targets.

 - Conduct market research to identify new business opportunities and stay updated on industry trends.


- **Client Relationship Management:**

 - Establish and maintain strong relationships with new clients.

 - Conduct regular meetings with clients to understand their transportation needs and provide tailored solutions.

 - Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent service and support.


- **Sales and Negotiation:**

 - Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations to prospective clients.

 - Negotiate contracts, rates, and service agreements to maximize profitability while ensuring customer satisfaction.

 - Close sales and achieve or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.


- **Collaboration and Communication:**

 - Collaborate with internal teams, including operations, customer service, and finance, to ensure seamless service delivery.

 - Communicate effectively with clients, understanding their needs and providing appropriate solutions.

 - Provide regular reports on sales activities, pipeline status, and revenue forecasts to senior management.


- **Industry Knowledge and Compliance:**

 - Stay informed about industry regulations, market conditions, and competitors' activities.

 - Ensure compliance with all relevant transportation and logistics regulations and standards.

 - Participate in industry events, trade shows, and conferences to network and promote the company's services.


#### Qualifications:


- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Logistics, or a related field (preferred).

- Proven experience in sales, preferably within the transportation or logistics industry.

- Strong understanding of motor carrier operations, services, and market dynamics.

- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and internal teams.

- Results-oriented with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.

- Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.

- Ability to travel as needed to meet with clients and attend industry events.


#### Preferred Skills:


- Experience with transportation management systems (TMS) and other logistics software.

- Familiarity with freight brokerage and third-party logistics (3PL) services.

- Strong analytical skills and the ability to use data to drive sales strategies.


#### Working Conditions:


- This position may require travel to meet with clients and attend industry events.
