Objective
The Machine Safety Engineer will work with a collaborative team to drive machine safety reliability, focused on implementation of effective solutions that assure regulatory compliance and management of machine safety risk across the technologies portfolio.
Main Responsibilities
- Failure modes
- Hazard identification and analysis, especially in the final-user manufacturing scenario
- Change management (i.e. with the involvement of the Original Equipment Manufacturer)
- Functional Safety refers to the selection, installation and configuration of protective devices and related control systems needed to avoid unexpected start-up of the machine during operator or engineer interventions.
- Completing design/drawing reviews, engineering and implementing safety solutions to address any required remediation.
- Process design for Request For Quotation by Functional Safety.
- Support in Business Case development
- Support to the action plan to reduce risks through an optimal level of safety in machinery.
- Develop a integrated Risk system according at the global and local standard
- Getting involved early in new launches, projects, and other teams to offer support for machinery and other legal safety requirements.
Position Requirements
- Education: Engineering.
- Experience: 3-5+ years of hands-on industrial experience in machine safeguarding, controls, and/or mechanical engineering. Excellent knowledge of US and global machine safety system regulations (ANSI, ISO, EMD, etc.)
- Mandatory -Certifications: Risk Management, Functional Safety for Machines (ISO 13849), ISO 45001
- PLC/Automation: PLC programming, develop new risk analysis.
- Languages: English – Proficient
MANDATORY: Strong knwoledge in Machinery Safety/ Desirable CMSE® – Certified Machinery Safety Expert
