The Edron Academy is a British International School based in Mexico City. You will be required to work primarily in English to support students' bilingual education.

The Edron Academy is looking for a responsible and proactive Science Technician to join the Secondary Science department. You will be responsible for managing the science laboratories as the sole Lab Technician, and supporting practical science education for students from ages 11 to 18, in Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Environmental Studies.

Primary responsibilities:

• Preparation, tidying and cleaning of equipment for practical lessons
• Managing the organisation of the prep room and its contents, including scientific equipment, chemicals, books and stationery
• Preparation of chemicals
• Maintaining stock levels of all resources in science
• Procurement of equipment, chemicals and services
• Basic equipment maintenance
• Ensuring the department adheres to all relevant health and safety standards, including the use of hazardous substances
• Managing the order system for practical lessons and field trips
• Supporting the science department in school events such as Science Fairs
• Staying up to date with relevant educational and health & safety practices

Experience and competencies:

• Relevant laboratory experience
• Excellent organisational skills
• Ability to work both with a team and independently
• Good IT skills
• Knowledge and implementation of health and safety protocols
• Professional fluency in English
