Accountant (metal plant)

The role of the Plant Accountant is to direct the plant accounting and reporting functions of the Manufacturing Facility for Connor. This role will maintain and streamline the accounting and reporting processes, provide insight and detailed information to support decision-making. This role is also in charge of governmental reporting and compliance.

FUNCTIONS:

Leads monthly close process.

Prepares journal entries, analyzes accounts, prepares statements, and assists accounting manager with monthly closing and accounting reports.

Support group governance (internal controls—IFCR compliance).

Complete all local audit and tax obligations. Interacts with internal and external auditors in completing audits.

Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare entries for accounts, including general ledger and document business transactions.

Maintains and coordinates implementation of accounting and control procedures.

Resolves and audits billing, inventory, costing, and other accounting discrepancies.

Prepares documentation of processes and procedures and recommends improvements.

Prepares general ledger account reconciliations.

Researches and explains general ledger account variances to trend, budget, and prior year.

Monitors and reviews accounting and related systems' reports for accuracy and completeness.

Prepares and reviews budget, revenue, expense, payroll entries, invoices, and other accounting documents.

Analyzes revenue and expenditure trends and recommends appropriate budget levels and ensures expenditure control.

Supervise staff of 2-3 people.

Supervises input and handling of financial data and reports for company automated financial systems.

Assist with processing payroll.

Manages banking through bank portal.

Identifies internal control and system improvements to streamline and automate processes.

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.

EXPERIENCIA IMPRESCINDIBLE:

5+ years of progressive accounting experience within a global, privately held manufacturing company.

Full ledger accounting

Cost accounting experience is highly desirable.

Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Manufacturing ERP system such as Epicor 10.

Comprehensive understanding of GAAP principles and Maquiladoras

Exceptionally strong analytical, project/process management, communication, presentation, interpersonal and systems skills

Keen attention to detail

Bilingual English and Spanish
