Senior Accountant (U.S. Accounting) – 100% Remote (Full-Time)
English Proficiency: C2 Level Preferred, C1 Will Be Considered
Location: All states in Mexico will be considered (Fully Remote Position)
Compensation: MX$35,000–MX$40,000 per month, based on qualifications, plus monthly stipend for electricity, plus benefits including continuing education assistance
Employment Type: Full-Time
Focus Area: U.S. Accounting (U.S. GAAP and basic U.S. tax knowledge required)
Experience Required: At least 3 years in U.S. accounting
Expected Start Date: June 2025

We are hiring a Remote Senior Accountant to support our growing team. The CEO, a bilingual licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA), promotes an open-door policy and is always available to assist while fostering a collaborative leadership style and also encourages career and academic development. This role reports directly to the Senior Accounting Manager who is also a CPA and this role will also be responsible for supervising one staff accountant.
Role Overview
As a Senior Accountant, you will play a key role in managing day-to-day accounting tasks, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and tax frameworks, and delivering high-quality accounting for a portfolio of U.S. small and medium-sized clients. This fully remote role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage priorities while supporting, delegating, and mentoring a staff accountant.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform day-to-day accounting tasks for small and medium-sized private clients in compliance with U.S. GAAP and U.S. tax frameworks
- Book journal entries and prepare or review financial statements (balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements)
- Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and reconcile general ledger and bank accounts
- Apply strong understanding of intercompany transactions (due-to-from) and intercompany affiliate payables
- Collaborate with the Senior Accounting Manager and/or Engagement Partner to deliver timely, accurate client deliverables
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients, responding to inquiries and providing answers
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes
- Assist with clients' external audit or tax teams where applicable
- Use technology and best practices to automate and streamline repetitive accounting tasks
- Maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with client-specific and regulatory requirements
- Assist with additional finance and accounting-related tasks as needed
- Mentor and support the development of the staff accountant
- Assist with internal accounting and reporting, particularly involving intercompany transactions
Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, with demonstrated expertise in U.S. GAAP
- At least 1 year of experience supervising or mentoring junior accountants
- Big 4 or public accounting experience
Skills:
- Proficiency in multiple accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAGE, NetSuite, etc.)
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, XLOOKUP, VLOOKUP, nested IF statements)
- Bilingual in Spanish and English, with strong English written and verbal communication
- Strong attention to detail, independence, and a proactive approach to understanding client needs
- Strong social and diplomacy skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
- Contador Público Certificado (CPC) designation, or currently pursuing CPC certification
- Experience in both public accounting and private companies
- Financial modeling experience (preferred, not required)
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills
- Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to adapt to a growing firm's needs
Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive base salary: MX$35,000–MX$40,000/month (based on qualifications)
- IMSS (Mexican Social Security) coverage
- Monthly stipend for electricity and internet costs
- Tuition reimbursement for continuing education (after 2 years of successful service)
- 12 vacation days in the first year, increasing with tenure per Mexican Federal Labor Law
- Fully remote position with company-provided equipment

Work Schedule
- Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM EST (lunch break included)
- Occasional weekends or evenings may be required, depending on workload
