In this role, you will be managing your departmental team, including the Project Manager, Facilities Manager, and EHS Manager and with consultants in addition, you are responsible for all aspects of capital project development, cost-saving project implementation, new product introduction projects, compliance projects, and infrastructure and utilities maintenance projects. This includes project conception, planning, and delivery for short-, medium-, and long-term goals, as well as strategic objectives.
This role will include :
- Planning, designing, constructing and managing contracts and budgets.
- Defining and scoping projects, schedules, and estimates cost, developing conceptual designs and project documentation, selecting consultants, overseeing the design process, manages construction contracts, and ensures project closure.
- Serving as a resource for other departments by providing estimates, preliminary planning, inspection services, facility information, problem-solving and technical advice.
You will be :
- Managing the engineering process functions to provide machinery, equipment, and processes that are 100% reliable, safe, efficient, and innovative for manufacturing all products in the plant.
- Developing, improving and reviewing departmental policies and procedures to support operational philosophies and systems within your area of responsibility.
- Managing, developing and training direct reports to maintain performance excellence in line with company growth and operational requirements.
- Securing appropriate education, resources, and materials to support the enhancement of knowledge and skills.
- Providing education and training on applicable business policies, procedures, and techniques.
- Creating and developing goals and strategies aligned with senior management directives to support the company's strategic plan.
- Overseeing the budget, development and execution of capital appropriations.
- Selecting, evaluating, coordinating and developing employees under their supervision to achieve company objectives in the most cost-effective manner.
- Recommending salary adjustments, promotions, disciplinary actions, hiring, and termination of employees under their supervision.
- Recommending and implementing continuous improvement programs.
- Supporting the company's safety program.
- Maintaining order, cleanliness, and a good appearance within their department.
You may be assigned to work on special projects designated by the Plant Director to :
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for manufacturing operations.
- To clearly communicates with all areas impacted by engineering and its personnel.
Other responsibilities include :
Promoting teamwork and fostering strong relationships across all functions while directing the use of resources to achieve business objectives most effectively.
Developing team members to become leaders through coaching, setting high expectations, empowerment, and teamwork.
Assisting in developing, suggesting, and implementing modifications to equipment and/or processes that improve safety, quality, and productivity.
Establishing, developing and maintaining positive relationships with support teams and suppliers.
Maintaining, disseminating and learning from improvement initiatives and projects across Convatec, sharing industry best practices.
Developing, suggesting and implementing modifications to equipment and/or processes that enhance safety, quality, and productivity.
Developing and implementing corrective improvement plans in alignment with operational objectives.
Ensuring that all direct reports are proactively trained on potential risks in their work area and on how to safely perform their job requirements.
Leading and participating in accident and first-aid investigations within the functional area.
Ensuring that corrective actions for accidents and first-aid events are effective and properly implemented.
Safety, Health, and Environment Responsibilities include :
Complying with the safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures established by EHSMS.
Being involved in corrective actions of other departments when directly related to the functions of their position.
Keeping the applicable documented information related to the EHSMS updated both electronically and manually.
Receiving the necessary training to ensure adequate competence for their position and personnel.
Understanding the EHS risks and all legal requirements related to their job responsibilities, as well as the proper controls established to manage those risks and requirements.
Performing job responsibilities with due professional care, complying with legal requirements and internal standards without compromising their own safety or others.
Being aware of and support compliance with applicable significant environmental aspects.
Being alert to EHS hazards in the workplace, responding to them appropriately, and communicating them to the responsible management as soon as they are identified.
Helping to drive continuous improvement in EHS performance by recommending potential improvements for responsible management.
Participating in identifying improvement opportunities and implementing necessary actions to achieve the intended outcomes of the environmental management system.
With the EMS Position Authorities
Determine and establish corrective actions necessary for the optimal functioning of the environmental
management system.
.Authorize the necessary and available resources for the environmental management system.
Request monitoring, measurement, analysis, and evaluation of the organization's environmental performance at various levels, including monitoring air emissions, wastewater, and environmental noise.
Require, establish, implement, maintain, and continuously improve an environmental management system.
Implement, maintain, review, and update the organization's environmental policy and objectives.
.Review the EMS to ensure its ongoing suitability, adequacy, and effectiveness, and request the necessary adjustments.
