This project engineer is responsible for leading and managing the execution process of medium to large engineering VAVE projects, with cost savings ranging from $50K to $250K and beyond. Manages the project team and maintains records of key project milestones, necessary decisions, roadblocks, risks, and resource assessments. Provides periodic communication to stakeholders and leadership through project planning and dashboard creation. This role typically requires 3 to 5 years of experience.
This role involves coordinating the efforts of cross-functional team members, including engineers, subject matter experts, and external integrators, to ensure the successful implementation of VAVE projects. The Project engineer will oversee the entire project lifecycle, from initial planning to deployment, focusing on delivering results that enhance productivity and product quality and performance.
Must demonstrate strong leadership capabilities, project management skills, time and task management, project planning skills (including Gantt chart creation), and fluent English communication skills.
General engineering skills are desirable, such as:
- A3 form for problem-solving methodology
- 8D support
- Drawing interpretation
- Driving a DRBFM (Design Review by Failure Mode) & DVP (Design Validation Plan) meeting
- DFA (Design for Assembly) / DFM (Design for Manufacturing) CAD models (Sub-assemblies & FGs)
- Driving engineering changes (ECR/ECN)
- Food safety knowledge (NSF requirements & design impacts)
- Electrical safety knowledge (UL/CE requirements & design impacts)
- Sheet metal clearance design and tolerances
- Injection molding design and tooling
