Automotive metal-mechanical company in Irapuato, Guanajuato is seeking an experienced ESH Manager to develop and implement safety, health, and environmental programs, ensure compliance with regulations, and drive continuous improvement in workplace safety and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a strategic partner with Production, Engineering, HR, Materials, and Quality to develop an effective ESH governance structure and performance metrics.
- Develop and implement industrial safety programs and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with Mexican safety and environmental regulations and corporate standards.
- Establish and maintain an emergency response system, including brigade training.
- Promote best practices in occupational health and safety across multiple locations.
- Investigate workplace accidents/incidents and develop sustainable corrective actions.
- Manage environmental compliance, including waste and chemical management.
- Participate in the establishment, maintenance, and improvement of Environmental Management Systems.
- Work closely with Quality Management to meet IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 requirements.
- Develop and maintain an updated contingency plan in coordination with local, state, and federal authorities.
- Conduct risk analysis for processes, environmental impact, and workplace safety.
Requirements:
- Degree in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- ESH-related certification (desirable).
- Minimum 3 years of experience in ESH management within the automotive or chemical industry.
- Experience in fire systems, environmental systems, and ESH certifications.
- Strong knowledge of Mexican environmental and safety legislation and best practices.
- Understanding of ISO 14001, IATF 16949, and risk assessment methodologies.
- Fluent English communication and experience working in transnational organizations.
- Leadership experience (minimum 3 years as an ESH leader or coordinator).
