SUMMARY
Serve as a strategic link between the Human Resources and operations, ensuring alignment of HR policies, practices, and strategies with business objectives. Provide effective solutions that drive performance, productivity, and engagement within operational teams.
Functions and Activities:
- Strategy and Alignment:
- Develop and implement human resources strategies tailored to the needs of operational areas.
- Participate in strategic meetings with operational leaders to understand priorities and challenges.
- Talent Management:
- Lead recruitment and selection processes for critical operational positions.
- Oversee development and training programs aimed at enhancing technical and leadership skills.
- Design and execute succession plans for key roles.
- Labor Relations:
- Act as a mediator in labor and disciplinary conflicts.
- Ensure compliance with labor laws, internal policies, and union agreements, if applicable.
- Performance Management:
- Implement and oversee performance evaluation programs in operational areas.
- Provide feedback and coaching to supervisors and managers to improve leadership.
- Organizational Culture and Engagement:
- Promote initiatives that foster a positive work environment aligned pany values.
- Lead employee climate surveys and coordinate action plans for improvements.
- Analysis and Reporting:
- Monitor key HR metrics such as turnover, absenteeism, and satisfaction.
- Present periodic reports with data-driven recommendations.
Responsibilities:
- Act as first point of contact for employees & managers who provides leadership, coaching and support for individual employee needs & HR processes.
- Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention
- Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues
- Provide HR policy guidance and interpretation
- Provide performance management guidance to management—including coaching, counseling, career development, and disciplinary actions
- Support or directly fill prioritized vacancies, using efficient and effective processes
- Maintains knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting comply.
- Assists business units in staffing projections.
- Plans and conducts on boarding and new employee orientation to foster positive attitude topany goals.
- Keeps records of benefits plans participation such as insurance and pension plan, personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, and terminations, and employee statistics for government reporting.
- Keeps records up to date in ADP Workforce Now.
- Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs. Assists the Director and in writing and enforcing policies and procedures.
- Administers performance review program to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within organization.
- Administers salary administration program to ensure compliance and equity within organization.
- Administers benefits program such as life, health, dental and disability insurance, vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, and employee assistance.
- Assists Managers and the Manager of Safety in investigating accidents and prepares reports.
- Conducts wage surveys within labor market to determine competitive wage rate.
- Maintains a human resource system that meets top management information needs.
- Provides data, reports, and other information as needed by the department.
- Conducts termination meetings and exit interviews.
- Maintains the organizational chart for their assigned facility/facilities.
- Identifies and implements continual improvement initiatives to enhance the performance of the position, team, and company.
- Ensure effective implementation of human resources policies within the operations area.
- Provide guidance and support on personnel-related issues, including change management.
- Identify opportunities for improvement in operational processes from an HR perspective.
- Ensure compliance with labor laws and internal regulations.
- Promote diversity and inclusion practices within the operations area.
Educational Requirements and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, Industrial Relations, or related fields. Preferred: Master's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or related areas.
Experience:
- Minimum of 4 years in Human Resources roles, preferably as an HRBP in logistics, manufacturing, or transportation companies.
- Experience working directly with operational areas and unionized teams (if applicable).
Technical and Soft Skills:
- Strong knowledge of labor laws and local regulations.
- Ability to interpret and analyze human resources data.
- Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills.
- Proactive, results-oriented, and strategic thinking.
