We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Manufacturing Plant and Operations Manager to lead the daily operations of our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Monterrey, Mexico. This role will ensure that production meets high-quality standards while optimizing processes for maximum efficiency and sustainability.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall management of plant operations, including production, maintenance, procurement, quality control, safety, and supply chain management. The role will focus on achieving performance goals, driving continuous improvement, and fostering a positive, high-performance culture across the team and will report to the CEO.
Key Responsibilities
- Production Management: Oversee all aspects of the production process to ensure efficient and timely manufacturing of products according to company standards and customer requirements.
- Operational Efficiency: Develop and implement systems to improve productivity, reduce costs, and ensure the effective use of resources (equipment, materials, and personnel).
- Quality Control: Ensure that the plant maintains high-quality standards and complies with all regulatory and industry standards for product safety and quality.
- Leadership: Manage, mentor, and develop a high-performing operations team, fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Process Improvement: Lead initiatives for process improvements by implementing Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other methodologies to optimize plant operations.
- Sustainability: Align plant operations with sustainability goals, ensuring that resources are used efficiently and environmental impact is minimized.
- Safety Compliance: Develop and enforce safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all employees. Drive compliance with all local and federal health and safety regulations.
- Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure full compliance with all regulatory standards (local and international), focusing on safety, quality, and environmental regulations. Implement and lead risk management initiatives across the facility.
- Maintenance Management: Oversee the maintenance team to ensure all machinery and equipment are properly maintained to avoid production downtime.
- Budget Management: Manage plant operational budgets, ensuring costs are controlled, and financial targets are met.
- Supply Chain & Inventory: Coordinate with the supply chain team to ensure raw materials are available, and finished products are delivered on time to customers.
- Reporting & Analytics: Track, report, and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) such as production output, downtime, and operational efficiency, providing regular updates to senior management.
Key Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in manufacturing operations, with at least 5 years in a management role.
- Experience managing large-scale manufacturing plants. Ideally plastics and consumer goods products.
- Familiarity with injection moulding process.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and lead cross-functional teams.
- Proven track record of driving continuous improvement and operational excellence in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to set long-term operational strategies, align plant operations with corporate goals, and drive large-scale improvements.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.
- Experience with safety management and compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Fluency in English and Spanish.
