Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Database Administrator (DBA) who specializes in performance analysis and optimization of MS SQL Server databases.

The ideal candidate will have experience with database architecture, query tuning, session management, and routine maintenance tasks to ensure the overall efficiency,

reliability, and performance of our database systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Exposure on Azure Cloud & On Premise SQL Server knowledge

Performance:

Conduct regular performance analysis to identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies within SQL Server environments.

Utilize performance monitoring tools to gather and report key metrics, including query response times, CPU and memory utilization, and session counts.

Architecture:

Collaborate with development and architecture teams to design scalable and efficient database solutions to meet business needs.

Ensure database designs support best practices in terms of performance and data integrity.

Query Tuning:

Analyze and optimize SQL queries for improved performance, utilizing techniques like indexing, rewriting query logic, and examining execution plans.

Provide guidance to developers on writing efficient SQL and optimizing application interactions with databases.

Session Count Monitoring:

Monitor and manage active database sessions, implementing thresholds and alerts for excessive session counts to ensure smooth operation.

Utilize connection management strategies to enhance application responsiveness.

CPU and Memory Optimization:

Assess CPU and memory usage patterns to identify queries and processes that impact performance.

Configure server settings for optimal resource allocation, balancing load across available CPU and memory.

Index Management: Clustered / Non-Clustered

Develop and implement a comprehensive indexing strategy, including creating, maintaining, and revising indexes based on query patterns.

Regularly analyse index usage and effectiveness to improve overall query performance.

Data Synchronization: (between On-Prem to Azure Cloud)

Manage synchronization between two or more databases, utilizing SQL Server replication or synchronization methodologies as necessary.

Monitor synchronization processes to ensure data consistency and timely updates.

Performance Testing:

Design and execute performance testing strategies to evaluate database performance under different load conditions.

Analyze performance test results to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes.
