We are a rapidly-growing fintech start-up that provides innovative credit solutions to our customers. We are seeking a Manager of Legal and Compliance to lead our legal function.

Responsibilities:

· Provide legal guidance and support to the business on a wide range of legal issues, including commercial contracts, data protection, intellectual property, and regulatory compliance.

· Manage and monitor the necessary reports for CONDUSEF. for the DFI México supervisory authorities (CNBV and CONDUSEF).

· Ensure compliance in the prevention of money laundering for SOFOM EN.R. before the CNBV (reports, audits, system development, review of operations, manual, renewal of technical opinion).

· Develop and implement legal strategies and policies to support the company's business objectives and mitigate legal risks.

· Advise senior management on legal implications of business decisions and regulatory changes.

· Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with clients, vendors, and partners, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and best practices.

· Manage external legal counsel and other legal service providers as needed.

· Ensure the company's compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards, including data protection, anti-bribery, and anti-corruption laws.

· Develop and maintain strong relationships with regulatory authorities and other key stakeholders.

· Develop and deliver legal training programs to internal stakeholders, including sales, marketing, and operations teams.

· Align globally with the Digital Finance México Headquarters Compliance team.

· Stay up to date with legal and regulatory developments in the fintech and credit industries, and proactively advise the business on potential implications.

Requirements:

• 4+ years of legal work experience preferably at a Fintech\big law firm\banking.

• Experience in-house at a start-up or high-growth company is highly desirable.

• Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance.

• CNBV certification (mandatory).

• UIF certification (desirable).

• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to communicate complex legal concepts to non-lawyers.

• Demonstrated ability to provide strategic legal advice and support to senior management.

• Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.

• Proficiency in legal research and analysis tools, and the ability to develop practical solutions to complex legal issues.

• Fluent English (mandatory).
