To help us accomplish this, we are seeking a: Trials Specialist. This position is based in Tala, Jalisco.
SCOPE OF THE POSITION:
- Lead Applied Research for advanced selections from the low and zero chill breeding pipelines.
- Manage and coordinate advanced selection and new variety trialing, including establishment, data collection, and reporting
- Provide horticultural technical support to the global commercial organization and develop reports and variety guides to enable successful product launches and grower adoption of new varieties.
- Provide training to the Grower Support teams.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Design, Plan, coordinate, and collaborate on horticultural experimentation.
- Establish and coordinate internal and external advanced selection and new variety trials nationally and internationally.
- Subjective and quantitative data collection on advanced selections and new varieties at internal and external research locations.
- Statistical analysis of global low and no-chill phenotypic data to provide certainty in the decision-making process.
- Conduct genotype, environment, and management system-specific research based on the specific needs of the Commercial team.
- Develop strong knowledge of the breeding pipeline to support the breeding team with selection advancement.
- Collaborate with third-party partners to develop studies related to areas of interest for the program.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND TRAINING:
- Agronomists/horticulturalists with at least 3 years of experience in horticultural management.
- Good written and oral presentation skills in English and Spanish.
- Desirable knowledge in statistical analysis.
- Experience communicating with growers.
- Experience working in a sales environment.
