To further improve our value proposition,we are looking for a Senior Controls Engineer for our Global Business Services(GBS) Mexico.

Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced engineer in the field ofautomation engineering with automotive background.

The Controls Engineer will work to produce software packages,on schedule and on budget, to meet the customer contract requirements and thecustomer expectations. Develop and design control software, integrate softwarewith electrical and mechanical systems and perform the commissioning atcustomer sites.

Responsibilities

You will be engineering andcommissioning software only for SIEMENS SIMATIC controllers and HMIs. Yoursoftware will be used in automotive plants on our automation equipment to helpour customers build their products.

• Responsiblefor PLC/HMI code development, code installation, debug on job site, andcommissioning of the complete system.
• Activerole in the creation of new automated systems as well as the optimizing ofexisting ones.
• Yourresponsibilities will include:

- Performing the commissioning ofcomponents, systems and solutions on customer site
- Planning the required activities.
- Preparation of reports and documentationof the commissioning results.
- Analyzing the system behavior and theinteraction of single elements.
- Executing the hand-over to the customerpersonnel and their briefing.
- Contribute as test engineer toadmittances, routine and type tests.
- Perform or support the determination orspecification of the required test equipment.
- May lead the commissioning staff functionally.
- May control the mentioned tasks and /or providesupervisory guidance at site.

Required Knowledge/Skills,Education, and Experience

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or Automation Engineering with programming background or equivalent Experience
• Must have at least 5 years of experience in the field of automation engineering
• Must be proficient in Automotive Industry assembly system programming (conveyor technologies and process equipment)
• Programming Personal Safety equipment (i.e. Sick PLS)
• Must have at least 5 years of experience in SIEMENS Simatic PLCs and HMIs (Siemens Step 7, TIA Portal, WinCC)
• 5-10 years of experience with drives (Siemens, SEW, Lenze)
• Experience with controls network setup and commissioning such as Ethernet and Profibus
• 50% Travel

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, andExperience

• CMSE® - Certified Machinery Safety Expert - Pilz US or equivalent
• Fluent in English, Spanish. German language skills are a plus
• Volkswagen VASS or BMW TMO Standard knowledge
