Position Purpose
The Customer Insights Specialist will proactively leverage internal and external data to drive strategic insights into AutoZone's retail and commercial customers. By clearly articulating customer behaviors, preferences, and trends, this role will bring the voice of the customer to the forefront, influencing decision-making across the organization. The incumbent will expertly manage market research projects from conception to execution, delivering actionable insights that directly support strategic business objectives.
Primary Accountabilities
- Research Management. Develop, write, and manage compelling RFPs, research briefs, proposals, and statements of work aligned with business and stakeholder objectives.
- Ensure timely, efficient, and budget-conscious execution of research projects, prioritizing initiatives based on business impact.
- Insight Delivery & Strategic Communication. Distill complex data into clear, concise, and compelling narratives, ensuring insights are actionable and strategically relevant.
- Present data-driven insights effectively to cross-functional teams and senior leadership, influencing decision-making processes.
- Exploratory & Competitive Analysis. Perform exploratory research and competitive analysis to uncover trends, opportunities, and strategic recommendations that guide organizational decision-making.
- Data Integrity & Validation. Implement robust methodologies for data validation, ensuring accuracy through data reconciliation, coding, transformation, integration, and rigorous audits.
- Financial Stewardship. Manage research project budgets, ensuring accuracy in forecasts, invoicing, and financial reporting.
Education & Experience
Level of Formal Education: A Bachelor's degree (BA, BS) or equivalent.
Area of Study: BA/BS in a quantitative field, business, or market research
Years of Experience: Three to five years.
Type of Experience:
• Significant experience in designing and executing qualitative and quantitative research projects.
• Demonstrated ability to convert research data into actionable insights and strategic recommendations.
• Proven experience presenting insights and recommendations clearly and persuasively to senior and executive management."
Special Certifications or Technical Skills: Experience in applied Marketing Research, either in a corporate research department or an outside market consulting firm, with focus on designing and managing both qualitative and quantitative survey research, customer analytics, data mining and preparing/presenting insights to cross-functional business partners, including Senior and Executive levels of leadership.
