Descripción
The Operations Manager manages the planning and forecasting process to meet operational and financial business expectations. This position creates a weekly, forward-looking demand forecasts to achieve the required revenue, miles and profit requirements. This position has overall responsibility to manage performance and schedule of the Driver Managers and drivers.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
-Serves as a member of the S&OP Team,
-Oversees planning and executing the S&OP demand planning and processes.
-Communicates specific actions to Planners to address performance and attainment issues with the demand plan or any discrepancies in the revenue.
-Drives demand planning continuous improvement throughout the organization, providing guidance within all functional areas and escalating barriers to Leadership Team.
-Manages the daily activities of Driver managers.
-Oversees driver managers developing driver work schedules and confirm adherence.
-Monitors ETAs, PTAs and additional dispatch information.
-Ensures daily communication with each driver in the TMS system to ensure accurate execution of the plan.
-Develops and monitors weekly KPI's to evaluate driver performance and make strong recommendations to the General Manager regarding personnel decisions including the hiring and firing of Company drivers.
-Partners with external vendors to transition loads when third-party assistance is required.
-Identifies and reports out potential late loads to the Customer Service Department and Company management, as appropriate.
-Assists other Driver Managers and the Dispatch department, as needed.
-Perform other duties as requested.
Qualifications:
-Strong management skills
-Strong communication skills are required, including professional telephone etiquette.
-Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel is required.
-Proficiency with TMS database systems (e.g., McLeod) is preferred
-Knowledge in building Manifests is preferred.
-Ability to develop demand transportation plans.
Education and Experience:
-Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Management or related degree is required.
-Five years or more of related experience in s planning, driver management, or logistics is required.
