THE POSITION
As a Staff Accountant, you will play a crucial role in managing the financial operations of the organization and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records. You will be responsible for various accounting functions, including but not limited to financial reporting, financial analysis, budgeting, and general ledger maintenance. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, possesses strong analytical abilities, and has a thorough understanding of accounting principles and regulations.
?Main Responsibilities:
- Manage monthly, quarterly and year-end closings, including account reconciliations, accrual schedules and general journal entries, ensuring that reconciliations are performed accurately and on time.
- Manage day-to-day operational needs, including accounts payable, expense management, vendor management, and payroll processes
- Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements in compliance with accounting principles and regulatory requirements
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial reports and statements.
- Provide management with meaningful financial information for decision-making purposes
- Assist with external audits and collaborate with auditors during the audit process
- Conduct account reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies or issues
- Perform regular analysis of general ledger accounts, investigating trends and identifying areas for improvement
- Assist in the preparation of financial models and projections to support strategic planning and decision-making
- Assist in the preparation of tax returns, ensuring accurate and timely filing
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to address any financial compliance matters
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency within the finance function
- Assist in the implementation of new accounting systems, processes, and tools
- Mentor and train junior accounting staff, providing guidance and support when necessary
THE CANDIDATE
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- A Master's degree or CPA qualification is preferred but not required.
- 4-10 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on financial reporting, analysis, and general ledger maintenance.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, regulations (GAAP/IFRS), and financial controls.
