Job Summary:

Avnet's internship program provides Computer Science students with practical work experience in a global organization complimenting their classroom education. Our interns receive valuable hands-on experience within an enterprise IT infrastructure. In addition, our IT Interns gain practical insight into our business activities and internal operations.

Principal Responsibilities:

• Perform basic x86 server hardware build and troubleshooting.
• Research and document team processes.
• Perform on-call duties, including basic troubleshooting and escalation practices.
• Operating installations and configurations of Windows Server operation systems.
• Basic understanding of hypervisor technologies.

Job Level Specifications:

• PC skills including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Must speak and understand English.
• Knowledge of Windows Server operation systems.
• Must be able to work with a global team while receiving and executing detailed instruction.
• Basic hypervisor administration knowledge and/or experience desirable.
• Cisco, HP and Dell server and blade architecture technical knowledge and familiarity desired.
• Interest or background in Intel server technology and operating systems.

Work Experience:

• Typically requires less than one year of related experience.

Education and Certification(s):

• High School Diploma or equivalent

Internship Details

• This is a paid internship at 8,000 pesos per month
• Must be currently enrolled at any of the following universities: ITESO, CUCEA, CUCEI, UVM, Universidad Marista, UNIVA, Tec de Monterrey, Universidad Panamericana
• Work schedule is hybrid schedule some days in-office, some days WFH (20 hrs. per week)
• Must be available for seasonal work from August 05th 2024 to Feb 07th 2025
• Selected candidate must provide their own housing, internet access and transportation.
• Selected candidate should reside in Guadalajara for the summer to accommodate the hybrid schedule.
• Relocation is not offered for this role.
• Sponsorship is not offered for this role.
