This is a responsible and administrative position involving various accounting and payroll related functions, including data entry, maintenance, verification, coordination, preparation and analysis of the company's payroll remittance advices and all related reports. It includes the planning and performance of various duties to collect and process data accurately and timely within the specifications of our standard policies and practices. This position will routinely interact with both internal and external personnel of all levels while monitoring and maintaining compliance with company policies and procedures.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Assure proper processing and distribution of payroll advices.
Analyze and reconcile Payroll related General Ledger Account Balances.
Monitor Human Resource, Finance and Payroll Procedures to ensure compliance.
Assist Company Personnel with understanding payroll reports.
Develop a full understanding of the computerized payroll system. Be able to answer questions from HR Staff on software functionality and reporting features.
Process Accounts Payable related to payroll function (i.e. garnishments, levies, FOC, etc.).
Compute and process Federal, State & Local payroll taxes.
Maintain various logs, checklists and tracking systems.
Create General Ledger Journal Entries as needed (to balance reconciliations, record adjustments, etc.).
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE
Associates Degree or two years of experience working with payroll.
A bachelor's degree in Payroll or Accounting is preferred.
