Objective of the position 

• To create, plan and implement logistics Material flows.  Participate in logistics capacity and resource planning in alignment with the Supervisor.  Lead complex logistics projects and carry out logistics planning within the carline project Team or in the function.  Plan, describe, optimize and implement logistics processes according to the best practice approach, economic points of view and according to the logistics planning guidelines.  Support the Function and proactively contribute on the definition and implementation of standards.

Principle Activities:

• Strategy and Standards:
• Participate in collecting data for capacity and resource planning in the different Regions in order to achieve the region/segment optimum
• Support the definition and optimization of internal standards and processes within the area (e.g. the concept and implementation worldwide of current standards from the logistics planning; the development and implementation of logistics principles as well as application of those in the Supply Chain in the plants when choosing the implementation of IT systems, standard equipment, etc.)
• Develop integrated process optimizations and ensure their implementation by taking organizational and/or system measures
• Adapt, optimize, and implement the use of standard systems and processes
• Observe and identify relevant logistics trends to develop complex concepts
• Develop and implement measures to increase the logistics supply quality and sustain it.
• To generate Micro value streams and create the Macro VSM as a planning basis
• Planning and Industrial Manufacture:
• Develop, plan, and implement supply concepts to the production within a carline project in coordination with the Logistics Planner Plant as well as between several plants in alignment with the Supervisor
• Develop and implement an optimal material flow at the relevant plant for a carline project and/or across several plants
• Lead of logistics projects (e.g. implementation and relocation projects)
• Calculate logistics plant costs for a carline project in alignment with the Project Leader Logistics
• Prepare and participate in industrial manufacture workshops in order to find overall solutions and to optimize cooperation between Logistics and Production
• Participate in defining the Logistics product structure, packaging concepts, and ensure industrialization according to the workshop concept
• Participate in the creation of Logistics specifications in alignment with the Supervisor to select logistics providers for the micrologistics; Support with regards to the set up and supervision of Logistics functions (e.g. 3PL, etc.) 
• Participation in the creation of the emergency concept
• Determine necessary storage/WH levels and storage options according to the standards/guidelines (high rack, marketplace, supermarket, JIS picking, block warehouse, AULA) and their regular optimization after changes
• Application of standard systems and standard planning tools for storage/WH levels, FIFO buffers, tugger train/line feeding planning and the necessary Kanban buffers
• Recognize, propose, and implement sustainable process improvements in Logistics
•  Participate in the definition of the Production and Logistics Concepts in order to achieve lean logistics processes
• Miscellaneous:
• To act as contact person (internal and external) within the Function; to contribute in internal working teams
• To create internal documentation (e.g. complex documents and presentations)
• To recognize training needs within the Function; to plan and conduct internal and external trainings to complex topics
•  Temporarily support the plants in the regions (remote or locally) i.e. with the implementation of processes, training courses, new start-ups, project support or problem solving.
