We Are Looking For: IT PMO DIRECTOR / Fully Remote
Experience (Minimum Required):
• Minimum of ten (10) years of IT experience in the related functional area - Clinical applications, Corporate/Commercial solutions, IT Infrastructure, or IT Cyber Security projects., including at least two (2) years of global project management responsibility ideally in a complex, virtual and matrix environment leading large multi-functional teams.
• Working knowledge of regulatory requirements and IT technologies for the related functional area.
• Advanced computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, and Power Point).
• Demonstrated vision, strategy and growth experience on project and functional level.
• Broader level business/client relationships and business development experience.
• Financial acumen (P and L, budget, forecast, resources etc.).
Preferred Qualifications Include:
• Master or other advanced degree.
• Certifications in Project Management, Program management, SAFE, Agile, Scrum.
• Global project management experience.
• Understanding of Agile ways of working and Product mindset preferred.
• Understanding of GxP Quality rules and regulations as it applies to delivering IT projects.
Summary of Responsibilities:
Project Delivery:
• Responsible for project delivery within the portfolio (Xcellerate) with regards to agreed time, scope, cost, quality, successful outcomes, and project value.
• Ensure that projects within portfolio are delivered meeting GxP Quality compliance rules and regulations as it applies to IT projects.
• Part ownership of the global budget/P and L for the project portfolio, including top line growth, operating margin, project cost variance, forecasting, expense management, and other business metrics.
• Supports a culture of project management excellence whereby project leaders have a deep understanding of their role and responsibility to ensure project success for the business and their clients across the region.
• Implements and enables consistent issue escalation and resolution.
• Ensures that assigned staff understand and perform consistently according to defined operational, financial, and quality performance and process standards.
• Uses established operational, financial, and quality metrics and reporting dashboards to assess resource needs and staff performance for assigned staff.
• Supports the development and implementation of consistent project tools, templates and reports that deliver informative performance metrics and other critical information to stakeholders.
• Champions operational, financial, and quality delivery - encompassing consistent quality while mitigating risk and assuring patient safety, data integrity and regulatory compliance.
• Ensure that Steering Committee is established for all projects in the portfolio and PMs either lead or co-lead the meeting with the business to ensure that leadership is kept appraised of status, upcoming activities, dependencies, risks, and roadblocks.
• Develop an understanding of Agile ways of working and Product mindset and assist in moving the organization towards adopting these ways of working.
Business Development:
• Support the Portfolio Management processes established by leadership.
• In collaboration with relevant departments, support presentations for new projects and client business as required.
• May take on responsibilities on new project opportunities.
• Contribution to business development strategies and helping to identify key winning factors as per the business/client.
• Oversight of the project proposal development stage, review of executive summary of the proposal, responsible for final review of the proposal.
• Along with Product Leader responsible for oversight of project proposal preparation and execution.
• Ensure handover from all projects to Operations.
• Helps to drive the PMO methodologies and leading-edge technologies to deliver better solutions in an agile manner to the business/clients.
• Supports business/client expectations and satisfaction; identifies, develops, and fosters new and existing business/client relationships at appropriate operational levels with business, clients, strategic partners; and guides teams in delivering to establish/maintain effective business/client relationships.
• Acts as an escalation point for the business/client over the core project team and helps the business/client to navigate within the company to get to the right solutions as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Global Project Delivery Leadership:
• Helps to define and implement the Global Project Delivery vision and strategy; translates this into key initiatives and priorities; develops and delivers against operating plans and project plans; achieves results in a global, virtual, and complex environment; tracks and measures progress.
• Engages with leadership to help drive and implement company-wide and Global Project Delivery initiatives.
• Leads by Example in creating a forward-looking culture of ownership and accountability; delegates for development and growth; identifies and sets up high performers for success; is self-aware and a learner.
• Occasionally gets involved in functional and enterprise-level work streams and initiatives.
