Job Overview:
As a Buyer, you will be integral in managing the acquisition and supply of indirect materials and MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations) products for our organization. Your role will involve:
Key Responsibilities:
Sourcing and Procurement:
- Obtain quotes for products and services and evaluate options to ensure cost-effectiveness and value.
- Negotiate with suppliers to secure competitive pricing, discounts, and favorable payment terms.
Supplier Management:
- Develop and maintain relationships with new and existing suppliers, particularly for critical production supplies.
- Manage supplier performance to ensure timely and accurate delivery.
Project and Budget Management:
- Handle complex purchasing projects and oversee budgets related to procurement.
- Generate and track purchase orders and collaborate with suppliers and accountants for invoice processing and payments.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Prepare and manage purchasing paperwork, including purchase orders, invoices, and basic purchasing reports.
- Perform data analysis to support procurement decisions.
Cross-Department Collaboration:
- Work closely with finance, warehouse, logistics, and trade compliance teams to ensure seamless operations.
- Assist with ITC guidelines and customs brokerage during import processes.
Logistics and Inventory Control:
- Coordinate with logistics and warehouse teams for material receipt and inventory management.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant guidelines and policies.
- Policy and Procedure Adherence:
Enforce departmental policies, guidelines, and procedures. Collaborate with internal approvers to confirm specifications, budgets, and terms and conditions of purchases.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree.
- Experience: Minimum of 4 years in a purchasing-related role, with experience in manufacturing facilities preferred. Background in MRO planning and logistics/international trade compliance is advantageous. Factory startup experience is a plus
- Skills: Advanced English.
- Strong communication and negotiation abilities, with a proven track record in cost saving and procurement strategy development.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a focus on cost management.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
