Regarding the role, the Mechanical Engineer in Custom Product Engineering of AC Induction motors collaborates closely with Plant/sales teams, ensuring adherence to set quality and delivery expectations. The role involves initiating actions for continuous improvement in quality/productivity, working with the design of rotating machines (AC), manufacturing support, analysis of test reports, support for the Commercial team, and continuous improvement.
Ensuring Quality Systems within Wolong Electric processes according to customer needs and internal quality standards.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering
- Strong oral and written communication skills in English and the local language
Technical Qualifications:
- Knowledge of ISO 9000 systems, ISO 9000 leader, or internal auditor.
- Statistical Process Control (SPC).
- Development of flow charts, FMEA's, PPAP's, and Quality Control Plans.
- Knowledge of ULCSA
- Knowledge of IEC
- Elaboration of R&R Studies.
- Analysis and solution of problems (DMAIC)
- Experience: 4-5 years in Quality areas
Desired Characteristics/Other Qualifications:
- Basic knowledge of motors and electrical tests
- Basic knowledge of finance
- Ability to develop, communicate, and execute objectives
- Ability to manage and coordinate internal and external resources
- Strong presentation and negotiation skills
- Green Belt certified
Job Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineer to develop flow charts and PFMEA (Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis).
- Develop, implement, and ensure the fulfillment of the Quality Control Plan.
- Lead the process of corrective actions aimed at reducing internal and external PPM's (Parts per million), Scrap Cost, and Guarantees.
- Involved in the liberation process of work instructions, formats, and visual aids.
- Implement and maintain Statistical Process Control (SPC).
- Lead the implementation of Poka-yokes.
- Ensure product inspections in-process and finished products.
- Assure audits of processes and final products.
- Fulfillment of quality metrics (Internal and external PPM's, Costs of Scrap, Costs of external Guarantees).
- Ensure compliance with all agencies (UL, CSA, NVLAP, etc.).
