Regional Engineering Director - AMER
What The Job Involves
The AMER Engineering Director is responsible for leading the engineering function for one of JLL's key Client portfolios.
The role will hold accountability for execution and innovation of all Hard Services delivery and form part of the account's senior leadership team. The AMER engineering manager will manage regional managers as well as a central service engineering team.
The AMER Engineering Manager will be a strategic partner with leadership within JLL and with Client stakeholders. Ensuring exceptional customer experience is provided at all levels with detail-oriented approach to service delivery.
What your day-to-day will look like:
- Ensure that the technical service team perform as a collaborative and cohesive team reflecting the vision and ambition of the client and JLL
- Direct Hard Services Management across AMER locations (budget, schedule, procurement, quality & risk)
- Provide effective leadership of the Technical, Energy, Central Service and Project managers to provide the services within the scope, within budget delivering contractual obligations and key performance indicators.
- Foster and develop an open and one team relationship between the management team, service partners and stakeholders to create a seamless and unified client experience.
- Ensure that compliance and operational management is maintained both statutorily and organisationally ensuring that policy and legislation are followed in accordance with all required standards in each country.
- Drive the company vision, values and strategic goals and will be responsible for measuring and driving performance to expected levels and standards.
- Communicate regularly with the Client stakeholders to build and maintain relationships.
- Ensure that policies and procedures are fit-for-purpose and that services are delivered and developed in accordance with the standards defined by JLL and the client.
- Drive innovations and enhancements within the Engineering function across the AMER region.
- Hold responsibility for contract Management of all M&E, Fabric and hard service partners, vendors and other procured services developing a strong partnering ethos and focus toward service.
- Identify technical risks, develop risk mitigation and contingency plans, and implement action plans to reduce or eliminate project risks.
- Manage business critical/emergency situations and seek to resolve promptly ensuring minimum disruption to the business.
- All the time working in accordance with health and safety measures and promoting best practice amongst colleagues, contractors and vendors.
Required Skills and Experience:
- 8+ years critical engineering & 5+ years in a leadership and management position.
- Bachelors degree in Engineering , maintenance or related field
- You have direct experience in directing technical services within a Facilities Management service within a fast paced, high profile environment, preferably in both self-delivered and outsourced engineering services contracts
- Fluent English
- Availability to travel at least 30% of the year
- You are a seasoned leader, adept in managing diverse teams across multiple regions
- You have experience of operational facilities management and managing services to meet KPIs
- You have knowledge of sustainability practices innovations and energy management
- You have understanding of building regulations, legislation compliance and best working practice
- You have experience in financial management and budgeting, identifying cost savings / avoidance
- You can effectively manage multiple work streams proactively resolving challenges or issues
- You are confident in presenting information and delivering training to colleagues and peers
- You think strategically to implement continual improvements to service delivery
- You thrive on building and maintaining positive client relations and networks at all levels
- You are open and have strong communication skills
- You are highly proficient with Word and Excel and have a keen interest in technology
