Descripción
This position is directly responsible for all building and physical facility improvement and maintenance projects for Callaway operations in Mexico at a 189,000 SF site. Incumbent is directly responsible for multiple employees (currently 14) supporting the infrastructure needs of the facility. Incumbent works closely with Manufacturing Engineering and Operations to provide input to the design, planning, construction and maintenance of equipment, machinery, buildings, and other facilities. The Facilities/Maintenance Manager will plan, budget, and manage facility modifications, including planning, studies, and estimates on equipment, labor, materials and other related expenses. This individual is also responsible for maintaining and improving all Central Plant Operations and equipment, tool crib inventory, maintenance shop, and related areas and operations.
· Direct and lead all tasks having to do with Production equipment maintenance including: analyzing down time, tracking and implementing KPI's, CMMS (Maximo) system utilization and best practices, preventative maintenance completed on schedule and corrective maintenance completed as quickly as possible, equipment moves/swaps, configuration of equipment cells, coordination with headquarters on planning/requirements for new equipment, purchasing of equipment and materials to maintain production equipment, and the completion of all reports and tracking metrics.
· Responsible for managing all tasks having to do with Facilities and Facilities Equipment including: managing the facilities department, all facilities are in good working order, build-outs, tenant improvements, vendor contracts and sub contracts, purchases of new equipment/materials, analysis/justification for repair vs. replace planning, identify and gather data for energy efficiency projects and performing audits, assist with writing capital funding requests, coordination with Site Director and Facilities Director on plant priorities, management of cafeteria including all equipment and plumbing systems.
· Responsible for managing all tasks having to do with Maintenance and Production Equipment including: managing the Maintenance department including technicians and tool crib, insuring production down time is kept to a minimum, and ensure preventative maintenance is completed on time.
· Project management; Plans timelines, assigns tasks, supervises work and performs quality inspections, and oversees completion of critical tasks necessary in order to complete large projects, along with support from HQ based corporate Facilities staff.
· Generates the annual budget for assigned cost centers, which includes wages, travel expenses, training, capital expenses, direct labor & overtime, parts & supplies, and all miscellaneous expenses. Manages expenditures and explains variances.
· Regularly audits the preventative maintenance system and provides feedback to the supervisors/technicians on completeness and accuracy, areas where additional attention is required due to slipping completion rates or higher than acceptable unplanned downtime.
· Oversee building operations and improvement activities including coordinating with third party contractors and engineers, procurement, IT, Security, EHS, Quality, Production Operations, and other stakeholders.
· Position is responsible for annual personnel reviews and disciplinary actions as necessary with review with by Human Resources Director. Also responsible for managing skills matrices of various department employees and building training and development plans to bring employees up to higher standards.
· Interface with various technical teams, process engineering, manufacturing engineering, and Research and Development.
· Assists in implementing engineering changes and continuous improvement projects as directed by the engineering managers.
· Ensure that employees receive necessary training in job-related skills, safety, and personal development to meet Callaway Golf standards.
· Conducts and documents effective weekly safety meetings as required.
· Effectively promote a team based work force and environment with high morale and engagement.
· Manages and determines effort needed for subsidiaries for maintenance of equipment and equipment start up for new processes.
· Compose regular project, maintenance, and metric based updates for both onsite leadership and corporate stakeholders.
- Development goals, measures, and reports to support key objectives defined by leadership.
- Work with subordinates and peers to develop plans to achieve stated goals and objectives and communicate key objectives to subordinates.
- Provide summary information to present the impact of these plans (metrics) to internal customers.
- Work with Production on developing goals in providing input to the design, planning, construction and maintenance of equipment, machinery, buildings, and other facilities.
Technical Supporto Use technical expertise to identify solutions for problems-solving and improvement opportunities.
- Provides design and/or consultative services in support of projects headed by other disciplines such as controls/automation, equipment improvement based on downtime, construction projects, and project time lines.
Project Managemento Manage production equipment moves-production line reconfiguration.
- Manage construction projects including; office rebuilds and tenant improvements, critical infrastructure replacement projects.
- Manage rebuilds of equipment onsite as well as coordination with HQ staff on major refurbishments to be completed offsite.
· Adhere to Callaway Golf policies.
· Makes decisions regarding recommendations of capital allocation, staffing, and other resources within authority limit. Capital and staffing levels subject to leadership and budget approvals.
· Makes independent decisions on a daily basis regarding Facilities/Maintenance issues and quick response to immediate issues impacting production.
· Makes decisions regarding outside contractors.
· Responsible for overall plan in achievement of larger projects. Make key strategic plans in support of larger goal.
· Erroneous decision made by this position may cause major cost overruns, serious timeline delays, cause substandard end product at completion of project, or even jeopardize completion of an entire project.
· Manager must be a technically oriented skilled trade person, electrician, mechanic, or engineer.
· Be familiar with a team based working atmosphere and oversight of a varied staff working over multiple shifts.
· Must possess excellent verbal and written communications skills, including fluency in Spanish and professional working proficiency in English for coordination with US based staff.
· Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills
· Advanced personnel management, leadership skills, and track of leading and motivating a workforce to meet production goal is required.
· Knowledge of Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), Lean Manufacturing, Theory of Constraint, and Continuous Flow Manufacturing .
· Advanced in all Facilities/Maintenance Trades.
· Advanced project management skills required.
· Self-starter that takes the initiative to start and complete assignments without direct supervision.
· Able to effectively work as a part of a team towards meeting company goals.
· Adept to delegating work assignment to subordinate staff.
· Ability to work beyond functional boundaries to identify opportunities, develop and implement solutions to improve department performance.
· Understands and considers the financial impact of decisions.
· Ability to shift priorities on any given moment.
· Proficient in the use of Windows based computer applications, including: MS Project, Outlook, Word, Powerpoint, etc. Proficient in CMMS programs, Maximo preferred.
· Must be qualified to drive Company vehicles.
Education and/or Experience
· High School diploma required, Bachelor's degree in technical field or trade school diploma preferred.
· Minimum of 10 - 15 yrs. experience in Facilities Maintenance field within a manufacturing environment.
· Minimum 4 - 6 years prior management experience preferred.
· Frequently required to stand and/or walk.
· Regularly lift, push, pull, or move up to 50 pounds.
· Frequently required to manipulate basic tools and small components with or without personal protective equipment.
· Frequently climbs up and down stairs, ladders, and works at high levels.
· The employee is typically split between a climate controlled office environment and a non-controlled warehouse/manufacturing environment.
· Must be able to work in an environment that may be hot, cold and dusty.
