Position Overview
Hunter Douglas, Playas de Rosarito is looking to hire an experienced Packaging Engineer to join our North American team. This position will be based in Playas de Rosarito but will require occasional travel to other Hunter Douglas facilities. This individual will help to support packaging design, implementation, Quality improvements, and Packaging Process Improvements.
What you'll do
Monitor shipping-related Quality issues and implement process improvements to drive Quality
Implement new packaging designs along with work instructions, equipment set up, and training
Support Product Line setup
Evaluate and validate new packaging solutions- design or materials.
Who you are
Bachelor's degree in product design, packaging or related engineering fields.
3+ years of experience in packaging design and development.
Strong knowledge of packaging technology, materials and design principles with knowledge of testing methods, regulations and standards for packaging.
Familiarity with production equipment and manufacturing processes.
Understanding of sustainability and environmental issues related to packaging.
Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software with project management skills.
Strong creativity skills for developing unique packaging solutions using current trends.
Proficiency in packaging-related software packages: SolidWorks, Artios CAD, Adobe Illustrator
Excellent Communication (written and spoken) in both Spanish and English
Ability to travel, up to 25%, to other Hunter Douglas facilities for benchmarking and collaboration.
