We are seeking an experienced individual to join the ISB LAM team in the role of Senior Business Manager.
Reporting to Regional Head of ISB LAM & Mexico, the Senior Business Manager will focus on developing and executing our sales strategy, including responsibility for all business development initiatives. The role holder will also leverage a multifaceted consulting skillset to cover key adjacent areas of responsibility (e.g. data and analytics, sales practice management and performance reporting, business cases and strategy presentations).
The remit entails high visibility with senior stakeholders, including the Global Head of Business Management ISB, Wholesale LAM and Mexico senior management and ISB Country Heads in LAM. and requires close collaboration with teams in Sales, Finance, Products and WCOO.
This is a key business and finance role that is focused on business partnering, strategic advice, supporting and driving business performance. You will report to the Regional Head of ISB LAM & Mexico providing financial stewardship, controllership, governance, and oversight as well as driving business performance and contributing to the formation of business strategy with incisive analysis and performance insights.
In this role, you will:
• Drive the development and execution of the ISB LAM & Mexico growth strategy across 5 markets, working closely with the five ISB Country Heads.
• Implement well-structured and creative business development initiatives to achieve targets, with an outcome-oriented approach and a clear understanding of Wholesale propositions, capabilities and market positioning.
• Produce well-structured and concise strategy content (presentations, business cases, briefing notes) for the Regional Head of ISB & LAM
• Help ensure finance and sales KPIs (e.g. Booked and Managed revenue, costs, returns, sales targets) are accurate, helping to correct issues across the region as required.
• Support the Regional Head of ISB LAM & Mexico on special projects and other areas of Business Management responsibility as required.
• Assist the Regional Head of ISB LAM & Mexico to identify areas to focus efforts on and to set metrics for success
• Preparation of Regional Head of ISB LAM & Mexico meetings, briefings, presentation materials, leadership offsite events, as well as review internal and external communications, reports, speeches, or presentations
• Organise and prioritise challenges & information for the Regional Head of ISB LAM & Mexico to facilitate decision making
• Act as a point of contact or gatekeeper between management and stakeholders
• Provide oversight and guidance to projects and programmes
• Lead the end-to-end creation of management documents, which challenge and inform about management decisions and ground areas to improve
• Establish and maintain a very close and effective working relationship with Business Finance, Central & Support Functions (DBS, for Digital Business Solutions), Global Businesses, regional strategy colleagues and other key internal stakeholders for various initiatives and requests
• Be a 'go-to' person for internal stakeholders for providing information from the ISB LAM & Mexico Office
• Work closely with country leaders and relationship managers to identify key strategic client relationships and connect them with local leaders
• Lead and build a high-performance global business finance function that can support the business efficiently and effectively.
• Drive business performance and support ISB to make sound business decisions by providing insightful business performance analytics, highlighting risks and opportunities, and providing strong commercial finance support (e.g. pricing, competitive analysis, client and product profitability, portfolio management).
• Identify global trends, opportunities and threats that will affect ISB, to allow the stakeholders to make informed decisions to enhance business growth.
• Ensure effective allocation of resources (including balance sheet growth, strategic investment decisions and budget allocation) to optimize returns for the firm and shareholders.
• Own the business strategic planning and forecasting processes, including target setting, financial projections/ stress testing, AOP and other strategic planning, and investor relations.
• Simplify, develop and enhance the MI framework that is aligned to Group Finance MI Strategy, with the goal of achieving one version of truth for both financial and non-financial performance indicators that are aligned to the achievement of CMB strategy and that is timely, accurate, and complete.
• Support business development activities related to acquisitions and divestitures.
• Be a change agent during times of significant business and functional transformation.
• Consulting, Business Management or Finance background and skillset is preferred
• Proven ability to design and implement impactful revenue growth initiatives, leveraging strong skills in quantitative and qualitative reasoning, along with strong stakeholder management skills
• Excellent range of communication skills, including written, verbal, and the ability to deliver compelling presentations
• Proven ability to work with Analytics to identify business development opportunities based on insights into proprietary HSBC and market data
• Multi-faceted and independent contributor who is comfortable working in a self-directed mode on multiple assignments
• Ability to use strong judgement to resolve problems whilst achieving deadlines and high output quality
• Confident in the use of Microsoft Office applications.
Requirements
