QUALIFICATIONS

• Languages: ADVANCED ENGLISH
• A university degree in Library Science, Education, Literature, or a related field.
• Prior experience working in school libraries or educational settings, preferably in elementary or K-12 environments.
• Familiarity with cataloguing systems, digital databases, and library management software.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with students, staff, and parents.
• Passion for reading promotion, literacy development, and educational support.
• Ability to organize and manage a dynamic learning space that supports both independent reading and academic research.

JOB OBJECTIVES

Create and maintain a welcoming, well-organized, and resource-rich library environment that promotes literacy, supports the curriculum, and fosters a lifelong love of reading in students.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Library Management: Oversee the daily operations of the library, including cataloguing, shelving, and maintaining an organized collection of books and digital resources.
• Reading Promotion: Design and lead literacy programs, reading challenges, book fairs, and author visits to encourage student engagement.
• Instructional Support: Collaborate with teachers to support classroom instruction through curated reading materials and research resources.
• Technology Integration: Facilitate student access to digital learning tools and online library systems, teaching basic research and information literacy skills.
• Resource Curation: Continuously update the library collection to ensure age-appropriate, inclusive, and diverse materials aligned with academic goals.
• Student Engagement: Foster a welcoming environment that encourages students to explore reading for both academic purposes and personal enjoyment.
• Community & School Engagement: Work collaboratively with teachers, staff, and families to promote literacy throughout the school community. Support reading-related initiatives and participate in school events to highlight the role of the library.
• Professional Development: Engage in ongoing training to remain current in educational trends, library technologies, and best practices.
