Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Lead GIS Developer or GIS Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of GIS technologies and a strong background in leading GIS projects. You will be responsible for overseeing the design, development, and implementation of spatial applications and solutions that support a variety of initiatives. In this leadership role, you will manage GIS databases, oversee geospatial application development, and ensure the smooth integration of geospatial data into enterprise systems. Your role will also involve mentoring junior staff and working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver effective solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the development and maintenance of GIS applications using ArcGIS technologies, ensuring high-quality delivery of spatial solutions.
• Oversee the design, implementation, and optimization of GIS databases, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and accessibility across various platforms.
• Guide the development of automated testing scripts for GIS products, ensuring quality assurance and scalability.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external clients to assess spatial requirements and translate them into effective technical specifications.
• Integrate geospatial data with other enterprise systems and databases to create comprehensive geospatial solutions.
• Lead the creation of custom geospatial tools and workflows that enhance data analysis, reporting, and visualization capabilities.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to GIS applications, databases, and data layers in a timely manner.
• Lead and participate in spatial modeling and data analysis to support strategic decision-making processes.
• Develop and maintain geospatial web services for data dissemination, ensuring accessibility and usability.
• Stay abreast of emerging GIS trends, technologies, and best practices, and apply them to continually improve GIS solutions.
• Manage GIS data collection, conversion, and validation processes to ensure the integrity and accuracy of the data.
• Mentor junior GIS developers, GIS analysts, and other team members, fostering professional growth and ensuring effective collaboration.
• Document technical specifications, user guides, and standard operating procedures for GIS applications and solutions.
• Provide leadership and guidance on GIS-related best practices, ensuring the smooth integration of GIS solutions within the organization.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Computer Science, Geography, or a related field. A master's degree is a plus.
• 14+ years of proven work experience as a GIS Developer, with at least 3+ years in a leadership or managerial role, focusing on ArcGIS technologies.
• Extensive experience with ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, and ArcGIS Field Maps.
• Strong proficiency in ArcGIS Survey123 and other field data collection tools.
• Strong programming skills, including experience integrating ArcGIS with other enterprise tools and platforms, such as Survey123.
• Deep understanding of spatial data concepts, GIS principles, and spatial analysis techniques.
• Experience with GIS programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, or .NET.
• Expertise in GIS database management, design principles, and optimization.
• Experience working with geospatial web services and APIs (e.g., REST, SOAP).
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide and mentor a team of GIS professionals.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders and team members.
