Objective
The Senior Maintenance Engineer Leader will supervise the execution of on-site Maintenance Engineers for each plant process requirement, always employing a preventive maintenance culture with a strong focus on quality and EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety). This role is also responsible for managing purchase orders and resources.
Responsibilities & Authority
- Ensure EHS compliance within the department, including housekeeping and similar initiatives.
- Maintain and improve all equipment by tracking key maintenance metrics: MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures), MTTR (Mean Time to Repair), and preventive maintenance compliance.
- Keep maintenance metrics updated by production area for subsequent analysis and present results to other serviced departments.
- Plan and execute preventive maintenance programs, as well as major maintenance and overhauls.
- Implement TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) on critical production equipment.
- Manage the departmental budget by seeking and evaluating cost-effective solutions.
- Maintain and improve the spare parts inventory for critical machines.
- Lead the training and skill development of all Maintenance Technicians.
- Develop and execute cost-saving projects that directly impact the departmental budget.
- Ensure that facility operations remain at optimal conditions.
- Prioritize technician tasks in alignment with operations teams.
- Coordinate payments and maintain communication with external providers of electricity, gas, and other services.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Maintenance.
- Fluent in English.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization.
- Able to work under pressure with a strong customer-focused approach.
- Proactive, organized, and analytical.
- Strong leadership, supervisory, and communication skills.
- Excellent customer service orientation and problem-solving abilities.
Technical Qualifications
- Extensive knowledge in mechanical, electronic, and electrical fields.
- Familiarity with MTBF, MTTR, and preventive maintenance compliance.
- Proven experience with CNC machines, punching machines, winding machines, testing equipment, and high-voltage systems.
- Knowledge of PLCs (various brands).
- Expertise in hydraulics, pneumatics, power and control, mechanical transmissions, drives, encoders, servomotors, and relays.
- Project Management skills.
- Solid understanding of electrical and mechanical areas.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes.
- Familiarity with LEAN - Six Sigma concepts.
