We are looking a Customs Specialist for our location in El Salto

What can you look forward as a Customs Specialist

• Ensure import and export compliance with international customs regulations, including HTS classification, country of origin, valuation, and trade agreements (e.g., USMCA).
• Monitor and maintain customs-related master data in ERP and trade compliance systems (e.g., SAP GTS, Oracle GTM, Descartes).
• Develop, test, and implement automation tools, reports, and dashboards to support trade compliance operations and audits.
• Act as the liaison between the customs compliance team and IT to drive integration and optimization of systems used for customs processes.
• Troubleshoot and resolve data integrity issues related to customs declarations, product master data, and denied party screening.
• Maintain and enhance interfaces between customs brokers, freight forwarders, and internal systems for electronic data transmission (EDI/API).
• Assist in implementing system controls to ensure accurate duty payment, recordkeeping, and document retention in line with customs regulations (19 CFR).
• Support internal and external audits by extracting and analyzing trade data and preparing documentation reports.
• Monitor regulatory updates and assess their impact on internal systems and customs procedures.
• Train internal teams on new customs system functionalities and trade compliance data requirements.

Your profile as Customs Specialist

• Bachelor's degree in International Business, Supply Chain, Information Technology, or related field.
• Minimum of three years of experience in customs compliance, with demonstrated technical system involvement.
• Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle) and trade compliance platforms (e.g., SAP GTS, Integration Point, Descartes).
• Strong Excel and data analysis skills; knowledge of SQL, Python, or Power BI is a plus.
• Familiarity with customs filings , import/export documentation, and customs brokerage processes.
• Knowledge of data governance, systems integration, and workflow automation preferred.
