The Siting Solutions Department is responsible for turbine siting and optimization, as well as establishing and growing strategic relationships with engineering counterparts within Vestas key customers and influential third party consultants. The Siting Solutions team is accountable for providing fully optimized wind power plant layouts and turbine configurations which satisfy both internal requirements, such as lifetime, warranty, loading, safety, contribution margin maximization, as well as external requirements such as levelised cost of energy, financeability and customer preferences.

Responsibilities:

• Develop project specific Siting technical solutions to maximize project value while handling risks
• Handle technical risk through undertaking and interpreting wind turbine loads analysis • Provide ad-hoc expertise and analysis support to all internal customers including Technical Sales Management, Global Development, Sales, Construction, Service teams as needed in pursuit of Vestas global goals
• Enable efficient interfaces between Sales, Technical Sales, Customers and Independent Engineers
• Liaise with independent 3rd party engineers with the scope of obtaining and scrutinizing independent energy yield assessments.
• Utilize knowledge of Vestas turbines and regional wind conditions to provide expertise and support to internal and external stakeholders and support securing order intake
• Identify market requirements and trends to promote product, tool, and process development
• Connect R&D to the markets through close interaction with developers and consultants through the Wind Power Plant development process
• Develop and coordinate continuous improvement of tools and processes, and collaborate on projects utilizing siting data to create value
• In addition to solid technical, quantitative and methodical skills, you'll need to have effective customer focus, and have the ability to build and handle relationships with customers and their consultants
• Technical review of engineering work completed by other engineers

Qualifications:

• Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Environmental Science, Meteorology, Science or related disciplines. Having a Master degree will be an added advantage.
• Previous working experience in similar roles within the wind energy industry.
• Experience using wind engineering programs such as windPRO and wind flow modelling in WAsP and CFD
• Working experience in Latin America and knowledge of the Mexican and Caribbean wind market would be beneficial
