Descripción
As the regional director for Mexico, you are responsible for the wellbeing and performance of all staff. That staff encompasses software engineering, software quality engineering, product management, solutions architecture, and project management.
Most staff work a hybrid schedule of two days in our Mexico City office and three days working from home. Day to day tasking is done by managers located elsewhere, typically our headquarters in Seattle, with you as the sole managerial leader in the region overseeing performance.
Essential Responsibilities:
§ Collaborate with our local affiliate to align operational practices and norms while ensuring the support of strategic objectives and business needs.
§ Manage personnel growth through coaching, mentoring, and routine performance reviews.
§ Diagnose problems with the running of the business and formulate effective solutions.
§ Proactively address organizational and facility needs.
§ Immediately address any lapses in compliance with corporate policies or local/national laws.
§ Monitor the performance of teams and motivate them to reach targets.
§ Create and manage against goals.
§ Provide guidance and subject matter expertise on methods and processes to teams performing software development, quality assurance, and technical operations.
Key Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
§ Demonstrated leadership skills, and the ability to develop, coach, mentor, and motivate individuals and teams.
§ Expert written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical audiences, in both Spanish and English.
§ Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to perform under pressure, managing multiple priorities.
§ Ability to build and maintain strong cross-functional partnerships at all levels of the organization.
§ Experience working and leading teams in Agile team environments a plus.
§ Knowledge of software development methodologies and best practices.
§ Knowledge of industry standards and best practices for quality assurance in software development.
§ Knowledge of and experience with manual and automatic software testing methodology, test development and test execution.
§ Familiarity with tools used to create software product, such as: Artifactory, Bitbucket, Bullseye, Github Copilot, IncrediBuild, IntelliJ, Jenkins, Jira, Oracle Developer Suite, Report Portal, Synopsys BlackDuck and Coverity, TeamCity, TestRail, and Visual Studio.
§ Familiarity with tools used to create cloud infrastructure, such as: Ansible, Bash, Env0, PowerShell, Python, Rapid7, and Terraform.
§ Familiarity with software infrastructure products, such: ActiveMQ, Asterisk, Citrix, Conduktor, DBeaver, Docker, Elastic Stack, Eureka, JRE, Kafka, Keycloak, MongoDB, MySQL, Nagios, NginX, Oracle DBMS, Oracle Websphere, PostgreSQL, and Tomcat.
Qualifications:
§ Licentiate degree in Computer Science or a closely related field.
§ Fifteen years of experience working in the software industry.
§ Five years at the managerial level having disciplinary authority.
