Role Summary Purpose:
Ensure legal activities concerning environmental, health, and safety compliance of the plant that would apply to the company and ensure its operation.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Identify adverse actions and conditions impacting the safety, health, and work environment of the plant.
- Follow up and implement corporate programs related to health, environment, and safety in the plant.
- Conduct prevention campaigns related to workplace accidents.
- Help maintain accident metrics established by management within the target.
- Plan and control the annual training plan on safety topics for all plant personnel.
- Ensure timely and proper supply of PPE.
- Plan and ensure the compliance of training for brigade teams and operational personnel.
- Follow up on regulatory requirements to government entities.
- Audit and ensure compliance with high-risk work releases.
- Conduct root cause investigations in conjunction with a multidisciplinary team.
- Immediately and generally communicate relevant accidents to all plant personnel.
- Maintain metrics and manage findings from all areas.
- Control key documents for managing and handling changes within the plant.
- Ensure contractor companies' compliance with permits within the plant.
- Manage the service of contractor personnel assigned to the department within the plant.
- Ensure the management and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous materials in the plant.
- Establish routines and daily rounds for EHS technicians within the plant perimeter.
- Supervise the operation of the Wastewater Treatment Plant.
Qualifications/ Requirements:
- 3 years of experience in Maintenance and policy management.
- Excellent verbal and written English.
- Ability to work in a team.
- Extensive knowledge of NOM, NFPA, OSHA, STPS, and other regulations.
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws regarding environmental issues and their procedures.
Technical Qualifications:
- Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Safety, or similar.
- Diploma in Environment or Occupational Health.
- Master's Degree in Environment.
