Position: Safety & Environmental Coordinator
Reports to: Human Resources Manager
Qualified candidates will possess the following Minimum Requirements:
· Bachelor's Degree in studies related to Safety and Environmental policies and procedures (with an emphasis in Environmental Health Management)
· Knowledge and understanding of NOM's /OSHA safety regulations, local, state, and federal rules and regulations, ISO 14001, STPS, SEMARNAT, CNA and local environment regulations.
· Previous experience managing safety and environmental issues within a manufacturing environment required, including experience auditing job sites for health and safety compliance
· Experience with creating safety awareness and training programs
· Experience with ergonomics analysis
· Experience with safety and environmental inspections from government agencies.
· English is a MUST
The Activities of the Safety and Environment Coordinator include:
· Consistently adhere to, and support, company policies, practices and procedures, including ISO, IATF16949, and safety regulations.
· Lead the cleaning external services activities for the Plant to comply with safety and environmental policies.
· Maintain active involvement in external visitors/inspections/audits related to EHS.
· Act as the main contact for qualified safety item suppliers for items such as chain slings, crane hooks, gloves, etc.
· Administer required reoccurring safety training/testing, such as first aid, bloodborne pathogens, hilo training, crane training, lock out tag out, confined space, audiometric, and new employee safety training.
· Work with all departments to ensure compliance in safety requirements and take the lead in safety related 8-D's.
· Work with the Human Resources department to continuously improve employee safety training programs (lockout/tag-out, hilo training, PPE, and environmental awareness programs).
· Ensure compliance with all Mexican regulations related to safeguard our people and our workplace in Mexico implementing preventive programs according to civil protection agency.
· Maintain all required documents for safety regulations.
· Consistently adhere to, and support, company policies, practices and procedures of ISO 14001, and environmental regulations.
· Track and monitor proper disposal of hazard wastes and waste consider as special management in Mexico.
· Perform reoccurring tests for air samples, sound levels, and other environmental impacts analysis.
· Lead evaluating environmental impact relating to chemical waste generation, storm water run-off control and air quality and/or health related concerns regarding proper use of process chemicals.
· Lead the security external services for the plant.
