Job Objective
The primary purpose of this role is to provide technical support to internal users while assisting with the administration, maintenance, and optimization of server infrastructures. The IT Assistant will ensure the smooth operation of the IT environment and contribute to the implementation of new technologies, maintaining high service levels in both English and Spanish.
Main Responsibilities:
- Resolve hardware, software, and network issues for workstations and servers.
- Monitor and maintain physical and virtual servers (e.g., Windows Server, Linux distributions such as Ubuntu, CentOS, or Debian).
- Assist with server configurations, updates, backups, and routine maintenance tasks.
- Support the administration of core services including Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP.
- Help configure and maintain LAN, WAN, and VPN environments.
- Apply basic IT security measures and monitor system logs for potential issues.
- Work collaboratively with team members and external stakeholders to ensure project success.
Requirements:
- A technical degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, or a related field.
- Experience: 1-3 years in technical support and server administration.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (both written and spoken).
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency with Windows Server and Linux (Ubuntu, CentOS, Debian).
- Familiarity with virtualization platforms such as VMware, Hyper-V, or Proxmox.
- Experience with Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP management.
- Basic understanding of configuring routers, switches, and firewalls, as well as network monitoring tools.
- Knowledge of data backup solutions and recovery processes.
