The role

Part of a team of Operational Buyers developing and sustaining a high performing direct material supply chain in line with Divisional and local procurement strategy. Establish critical supplier relationships and deploy demand management and inbound fulfilment supply chain processes. Drive continuous OTD, agility, lead time and inventory improvement programs maintaining supplier performance in line with changing and evolving business requirements.

1. Supplier relationship management

a. Develop high performing supply partners, aligned with category management and agreed supplier strategies

b. Cultivate culture of open, accurate communication and trust with suppliers

c. Define appropriate communication strategy to ensure timely, accurate information release and supplier feedback

d. Hold regular supplier meetings to review operational performance. Support scorecard process

2. On time delivery (OTD)

a. Implement OTD-to-request-date measure for supply base, including data collection and monthly reporting.

b. Drive continuous improvement activities to achieve and sustain business OTD requirements

c. Minimise impact to factory caused by material shortages by identifying risks and mitigating

d. Micromanagement of critical shortage situations

3. Forecasting and order fulfilment processes

a. Optimise and deploy full suite of inbound supply chain processes including forecasts, PO release, overdues management and expediting

b. Good understanding of MRP systems. Ability to extract reports and manipulate data

4. Supplier agility and capacity management

a. Understand business demand cycle and impact to suppliers

b. Proactively identify supplier capacity constraints, thresholds and countermeasures

c. Ensure supplier agility plans in place to support business cycle, both ramp up and down

5. Buffer stocking and lead time reduction

a. Define and implement supplier buffer stocking agreements, including target setting/flexing, monitoring and exception management

b. Drive continuous lead time improvement and processes to support, goal being logistics lead time only

c. Manage buffer stocking process throughout product lifecycle, incorporating NPI and End of Life/obsolescence

6. Support procurement NPI and transition projects

a. Work with Category Management to manage supply chain transfers. Supporting part supply transition from non-preferred to preferred suppliers and integrating new suppliers where required

b. Work with NPI teams to productionise new parts and ensure supplier readiness to project requirements.

7. Support triple certification ISO 9000, 14000 and 45000?

• Minimum 3 to 5 years procurement experience preferably in a manufacturing or logistics environment.
• Track record managing and improving supply chains and supplier performance
• Excellent communication skills across all levels of an organization, both internally and with suppliers
• Educated to degree level, ideally with professional procurement or logistics qualification
• Must be fluent in English
• Willingness to travel as when the business conditions and strategies require
