Descripción
Responsible for ensuring quality products are produced and distributed through controlling raw materials, production processes, and sub-suppliers. Coordinates the execution of inspection testing. Supports the business through assurance of standard production and business processes, FMEAs, and Production Control Plans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process improvement participation for activities related to quality and measurement.
- · Advanced Product Quality Planning Participation
- · Process and product capability, as well as identifying and actively supporting activities to improve key process performance indicators.
- · Customer and supplier contact on corrective actions and improvements.
- · Lead SPC and quality efforts on implementation, tracking, and data generation.
- · Supports marketing and sales in customer product problem solving and projects.
- · Provide problem-solving expertise and 8D projects support.
- · Control plan ownership, auditing, corrective actions implementation, and tracking.
- · Ensures that quality system requirements are established, implemented, and maintained following ISO 9001
- · Participation in internal LPA and ISO 9001 quality audit program. Initiates plant internal/external quality, environmental, and safety audits
- · Manage and monitor required Laboratory testing.
Qualifications:
o A bachelor's Degree in a technical discipline is required, preferably in Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or Industrial Systems Engineering.
o Advanced English language skills are required (both written and spoken)
o Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
o Proficiency in quality tools, statistical analysis, and root cause investigation methodologies.
o Certification in Six Sigma (Black Belt preferred) or other Lean/Continuous Improvement methodologies is a strong asset.
Experience:
o 7–10 years of progressive experience in Quality Management within a manufacturing environment, preferably in the refractory or ceramics industry.
o Experience in companies supplying products to the foundry industry, particularly involving crucibles and refractory components.
o Proven ability to lead and sustain quality assurance and control systems in high-precision, high-temperature materials manufacturing.
o Track record of managing customer audits, non-conformance investigations, and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
o Hands-on experience in analyzing production defects, improving process reliability, and working closely with engineering and operations to ensure product consistency and quality compliance.
o Experience with safety and environmental regulations related to materials used in refractory production is an added advantage.
Knowledge:
o In-depth knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO 14000 quality and environmental management systems, including auditing, implementation, and maintenance.
o Familiarity with automotive quality requirements and customer-specific standards (e.g., APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC).
o Solid understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement tools.
o Working knowledge of refractory materials, including technical aspects of ceramics, crucibles, insulation products, and other high-temperature resistant components. o Technical knowledge of casting, pressing, forming, drying, and firing processes, specifically applied to refractory product manufacturing.
o Experience with ERP systems, quality software, and Microsoft Office tools.
