Job specifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Purchasing, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or Management, Engineering or Equivalent
Professional /Technical Training: PC / common working knowledge (i.e. Microsoft Office suite), Knowledge / experience in project work, Facilitator-/presentation techniques, SAP / common working knowledge, Skilled negotiator, Intermediate to advanced Analysis skills, Technical understanding of product, parts and equipment
Related Experience/Specialized Knowledge: 3+ years in similar position, Knowledge of Customer Specific Requirements, Automotive purchasing and launch experience
Additional Skills: Detailed oriented, able to plan and prioritize purchasing tasks, discipline in execution, keep up-to-date documentation of all pertinent agreements and targets
Language Skills: English, Spanish a plus, German a plus

Essential Functions/Duties
- Manage all plant specific and program specific Procurement needs, including series production, indirect purchasing, and facility / MRO needs.
- Lead RFQ process to quote supplier needs, ensure adequate contracted capacities at suppliers, negotiate pricing and terms, and properly contract all new business awards within defined budget
- Interaction with the program team, plant, suppliers, and customers; participation in relevant team meetings
- Implementation of purchasing processes and objectives within the program
- Managing and communication of all purchasing issues related to the program, including engineering change orders and support for quality spills
- Develop and manage sourcing strategy in adherence with purchasing manager, duration of RFQ and lead on value analysis process, commercial negotiation, preparation of sourcing recommendation, finalisation and negotiation of purchasing-related contracts and agreements with suppliers
- Explore the market for new materials, supplies and processes in order to develop new sources and/or generate cost benefits and/or risk reductions
- Cost Saving Initiatives: Identify ideas up to implementation of savings which will contribute to Business Group MOP (measure of performance) + cash flow objectives
- Has the ability to stop production, upon notifying the supervisor and Plant Manager for Safety related matters requiring immediate attention.
- Interaction with Operations and current production facilities for supplier-related topics throughout the program life.
- Support of Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives related to achieving KPIs including signature of sustainability documentation, CO2 Initiative Tracking, EcoVadis subscription, and Charter signature.
- Understand and comply with company EHS policy; Meet Safety targets and promote safety, sustainability and quality mindset at suppliers
- Strong data analysis skills, ability to interpret data to make recommendations. Reporting and presentation abilities.
