Top 25 nationally ranked CPA and advisory firm Carr, Riggs & Ingram, LLC (CRI) has increased its investment in the city of El Paso as well as entering the Mexico market by merging in international firm, Jensen Accountancy International, LLC. Given this growth, we are looking to expand our team in Cd. Juárez, Chihuahua, México.
Individuals at this level have a minimum of two years' experience as a staff accountant and normally have passed the CPA or Chartered Accountant exam. Senior Accountants in Audit are expected to:
· Know and understand the reason behind the firm's policies and procedures
· Possess technical knowledge sufficient to supervise (“coach”) staff accountants
· Begin acquiring the skills necessary to develop quality client relationships and loyalty
· Exhibit (or develop) skills and characteristics delineated in the Firm's evaluation forms
· Begin to develop a command of GAAP, OCBOA, unique or specialized accounting principles, and financial statement presentations
· Obtain a thorough understanding of generally accepted auditing standards and common audit procedures and techniques
· Assume responsibility for efficiently supervising both audit and non-audit engagements/tasks
· Interact with core engagement teams and all low-levels of client personnel in an intelligent and professional manner
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
· Performs diversified accounting and auditing assignments under the direction of supervisor and manager
· Participates in planning and executing client engagements/tasks
· Prepares and indexes working papers; performs various procedures established under generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) to verify accuracy and validity of client's financial matters
· Begins to develop a command of GAAP, other comprehensive bases of accounting, unique or specialized accounting principles, and financial statement presentations
· Obtains a thorough understanding of generally accepted auditing standards and common audit procedures and techniques
· Effectively communicates with core engagement teams to receive information necessary to complete the engagement with a minimum of disruption to client
REQUIREMENTS
· Master's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting with the 150 hours and must have completed all requirements to be able to sit for the CPA or Chartered Accountant exam
· Minimum of 2 years in public accounting, demonstrating a progression in complexity of auditing and accounting tasks as well as having in charged engagements
· Proficiency in accounting software
· Oral and written communication skills in English
· Strong organizational and analytical abilities
· Ability to work well in a team environment
