Director de Preescolar
PRIMARY FUCTION.
To provide leadership and administration in order to motivate instructional and support personnel to strive for superior performance so as to provide the best possible opportunities for student growth and development, both educationally and personally.
LINE OF AUTHORITY
- Directly responsible to the General Director.
ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor Degree in Pedagogy or Preschool Education, desirable a Masters Degree related to Education.
SUPERVISION OF OTHERS
- Direct supervision over:
- Spanish Teachers.
- English Teachers.
- Academic Coordinators /Leaders
- SEP Technical Director
- Administrative Assistant of the section.
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS
- Experience working in an preschool and/or family literacy setting.
- Supervisory skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be flexible and adaptable to meet the needs of the children and program.
- Experience working with persons from diverse cultural and economic backgrounds
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
- The Preschool principal shall be responsible for:
- Developing and administering the general school routine, and coordinate all activities of the section.
- Participating in the selection of new teaching and classified personnel.
- Observing, counseling, and motivating professional staff toward performances to attain the educational goals of the school.
- Utilizing to the fullest extent possible, all available school facilities, materials, and staff service personnel.
- Continually evaluating existing programs and practices, curriculum content, and pilot programs.
- Maintaining an educational philosophy and school climate which encourages a cooperative and participating attitude on the part of all teachers and students.
- Maintaining a standard of student behavior designed to command respect and minimize school and classroom interruptions.
- Coordinate and assure all student behavioral problems are been attend and likely solved.
- Maintaining effective communication to keep the staff, students and parents properly informed.
- Orienting new personnel in the school.
- Planning and conducting section meetings.
- Interpreting and clarifying relationships between teachers.
- Affecting or recommending changes which will lead to improved administration, supervision and opportunity for student development.
- Attending all important aspects related to the Secretaría de Educación Publica.
- Observing and providing feedback to all teachers of the section.
