Position Overview
The Teacher Assistant (TA) plays a key role in supporting the lead teacher and students to enhance their learning experience. The TA reinforces lessons, guides independent and remedial work, supports students individually and in small groups, assists in classroom management, and ensures a structured and engaging learning environment. Additionally, the TA actively collaborates with teachers and participates in academic and extracurricular activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist students by reinforcing material introduced by the teacher.
- Support classroom management and student supervision.
- Guide students through independent and remedial work.
- Prepare learning materials and maintain classroom organization.
- Work with small groups or individual students to enhance learning outcomes.
- Assist with classroom activities such as reading, storytelling, and group discussions.
- Supervise students in various learning settings, including the library and computer lab.
- Administer and score assessments as assigned by the teacher.
- Help maintain an engaging and stimulating classroom environment.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or soon-to-be graduate.
- Full-time availability from 7:30 AM to 3:00 PM (Wednesdays until 4:00 PM).
- Prior experience working with students.
- Fluent in English (spoken and written).
- Flexible and adaptable to a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Teaching credential or related certification.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
- Experience managing groups of children.
