Bachelor's degree in Public Accounting, or Finance.
Desirable Master's degree in Tax or Finance (not essential).
Experience:
At least 7 years of experience in tax area, at least 3 in management positions.
Verifiable experience in the automotive or manufacturing sector.
Handling and follow-up of tax refunds (mainly "IVA").
Direct relationship with Mexican tax authorities.
Technical knowledge:
Mexican tax legislation.
Tax refund regulations.
SAP, advanced Excel.
Tax reporting in English.
Knowledge of international treaties and transfer pricing (desirable).
Language skills:
Spanish: Native.
English: Advanced / Fluent.
Position Objective:
To ensure the company's tax compliance in accordance with Mexican legislation. optimizing the tax burden through proper tax planning and management.
Will be responsible for leading the tax refund processes in favor of the company and will and act as a strategic liaison with tax authorities, external auditors and international headquarters.
Main Responsibilities:
Coordinate and supervise compliance with local and federal tax obligations (ISR, IVA, IEPS, etc.).
Lead refund processes of credit balances, mainly “IVA”, guaranteeing their timely recovery.
Develop tax strategies for the correct optimization of taxes within the legal framework.
Attend tax audits and coordinate the response to the requirements of the authority (SAT).
Ensure the correct determination, filing and payment of monthly and annual taxes.
Coordinate with external tax advisors and manage the relationship with tax authorities.
Support in annual tax planning and corporate tax reporting (local and international).
Collaborate closely with Accounting, Legal and Treasury teams.
Report tax information to headquarters in English, according to international corporate reporting requirements.
Keep the company updated on changes in tax legislation that impact the business.
