AWL Automation was founded in 2016 and established in Querétaro, Mexico. We have a strong ambition to further grow in the Mexican market for the upcoming years. We expect to expand with the automotive and metal processing industry to fulfill the needs for automated welding machines solutions. Nowadays we employ a young and growing team of approximately 60 employees and we are looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer who wants to be part of our growing team to shape the future!
Your role
You will be the responsible of having raw materials, purchased parts, parts in stock and manufactured parts available in a timely manner; the range of products is wide and varied. As well as evaluate, in accordance with internal purchasing procedures, the requests for quotations received, select a supplier and complete the Purchase Order.
You will decide in consultation with the Logistics Team Leader which parts can be purchased, subcontracted or manufactured internally considering quality, available budget, capacity and delivery time.
Your challenges
- Explore local and foreign suppliers in relation to supply possibilities, reliability, etc.;
- Analyse drawings, sketches, models, and assemblies and evaluate what needs to be manufactured, purchased, and subcontracted;
- Extract bills of materials (materials BOM) from AWL NL systems for RFQ;
- Prepare requests for quotation;
- Receive, analyse, compare, and organize requests for quotation in relation to prices and lead times/delivery times;
- Select suppliers based on technical and quality requirements;
- Provide new bid comparisons and price negotiations in order to complete the best purchase at all times;
- Discuss ambiguities with the Logistics Team Leader and/or Project Manager;

Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Logisitics or similar;
- Positive attitude, a self-starting and proactive mentality.
- Experience in Purchasing Strategies.
- Excellent ability to work analytically and solving problems;
- Excellent english level (written and spoken).
