QUALITY ENGINEER
The Quality Engineer is responsible for coordinating and administering the company quality program in relationship with designated customers. It is required to work with all departments, develop and maintain effective systems to achieve quality objectives and identify continuous improvement opportunities.
Responsibilities:
Design, implement, and maintain quality systems within the manufacturing environment.
Prepare Production Part Approvals (PPAPs) on new and existing products.
Develop, update, and maintain control plans, PFEMAs, Process Flow diagrams, and other quality/manufacturing documentation.
Address external/internal quality issues including containment and disposition of suspect and nonconforming products and communicate issues to the customer and internal functions.
Conduct root cause analyses and implement corrective and preventive actions for nonconforming products and processes.
Verify the effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions.
Communicate directly with customers on APQP, PPAP, and quality issues.
Conduct process capability and performance studies.
Develop gauge/fixture requirements and assist in gauge/fixture calibration and maintenance.
Evaluate parts and processes for continuous improvement of production operations.
Interacted with engineering and operations to ensure that the transfer to production of the new product was by approved data.
Support Quality Inspectors to ensure that products and processes comply with the relevant requirements of the quality management system.
Other relevant tasks as required.
Qualifications:
Industrial Engineering or similar.
Minimum of two years of related experience in quality assurance roles.
Knowledge of quality systems in a manufacturing environment, preferably automotive.
Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
Core tools.
CQI 19, 20 Y 23 (desirable).
VDA 6.3 Y 6.5 (desirable).
Knowledge of customer portal (desirable Tesla, Stellantis, Volkswagen).
Knowledge of the use, calibration, and measurement analysis of various inspection and testing instruments.
Ability to assume responsibilities and learn quickly.
Computer skills.
Knowledge of basic tools.
English
