On this occasion, one of our clients, a global automotive manufacturer with assembly plants worldwide and responsible for manufacturing exclusive models, is looking for an expert in battery module thermal materials.
The future Battery Module Thermal Materials Release Engineer for high voltage battery modules is responsible for the development, design management, and release of thermal materials used in high voltage battery modules. Projects include design and release of thermal materials high voltage vehicle battery modules for MHEV, PHEV, and BEV vehicles released for Global markets.
Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Develop program High Voltage Battery Module Thermal Material concepts (both thermal barrier and heat transfer enhancing, battery safety) that satisfy module, battery pack, and vehicle level functional objectives down to the battery module design level.
- Coordinate module thermal material packaging design, development, and implementation activities with module (including joint venture and external suppliers) and pack teams.
- Select and implement battery module thermal barrier and heat transfer materials that meet or exceed objectives for performance, cost, weight, investment, and quality.
- Develop and publish battery module performance standards related to battery module thermal materials.
- Author and submit source packages on time to support battery module thermal materials.
- Develop component and system level DVPs and coordinate component level DVP with tiered suppliers
- Execute design for manufacturing process and coordinate assembly process with manufacturing engineering at external module suppliers, joint venture suppliers, and high voltage battery pack facilities.
- Develop and execute system integration DFMEA for battery module thermal materials.
- Provide program deliverables on time per major development milestones
- Lead and coordinate Product Development Team (PDT) meetings with suppliers
- Coordinate change management (CCD, CN, IAA, PER)
- Execute standardization plans and reuse of validated subcomponents
- Provide launch support as needed
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering or related engineering degree
- Minimum THREE-FIVE (3-5) years in product engineering design, CAD, development and/or testing, including experience with battery thermal barrier materials.
- Preferred experience with HV battery packs, modules and cells
- Knowledge of HV Battery Pack, Module, or Cell Thermal Materials (both barrier and heat transfer enhancing materials)
- Minimum THREE (3) years current design and release experience using the Stellantis releasing system, or similar vehicle supplier/OEM engineering releasing system.
- Preferred hands-on experience working with HV batteries or other electro-mechanical assemblies
- Ability to review drawings and package studies in CAD
- Familiarity with source packages, specifications, DFMEA and DVP&R through the complete product cycle (from sourcing approval to serial production)
- Experience in problem solving and root cause analysis.
- Strong technical research and writing skills.
- Ability to work in a multicultural environment.
- Self-starter.
- Microsoft Office expertise
- Strong Presentation Skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Engineering or Business Experience in the full product life cycle Reactive and/or DFSS black belt
- Previous High Voltage battery design and release experience
- Minimum THREE (3) years CAD, CAE and/or Design Release experience at a OEM or Tier 1 supplier
- Laboratory experience in heat transfer and heat barrier materials.

- Monthly gross salary expectation is: 30k MXN gross salary.
