About the role

Carrier's Mechanical Center of Excellence (CoE) - Compression Module is seeking a motivated, results-oriented technician to join our team at the Monterrey Technology Hub (MTH) in Monterrey, MX. This technician will support Carrier's compression technology programs and the manufacturing team with quality analysis. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the teardown analysis of compressors in commercial and transportation refrigeration systems. Your expertise will be vital in ensuring proper diagnosis of field failures, production rejections, and qualification of alternative supplier components. This role will also provide technical guidance to customers and internal teams. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, engineering, and manufacturing, to ensure high-quality product development and application.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Technician / Mechanic – Compression Engineering, you'll be responsible for:

• Assist in troubleshooting compressor performance and field issues
• Build prototype compressors, make compressor modifications, and perform compressor tear down analysis
• Test operation, troubleshooting and diagnostics
• Test equipment modification, maintenance and construction
• Apply general mechanical talents including brazing, welding, and installation of special instrumentation devices to support compressor design, testing and development.
• Part inspection and use of measurement equipment

As a minimum you must have:

• 1-2 years of experience in related area
• Technical diploma/studying a BSc in Engineering.
• Experience with refrigeration, brazing, machining, and mechanical field experience
• Experience with Microsoft Office and digital cameras
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
• Intermediate English (At least good reading, written, and understanding skills)

Although not necessary, it would be nice if you have:

• Advanced English
• Factory Training from a compressor manufacturer or Associated Technical School
• Refrigeration Handling Certification
• Ability to solve challenging and complex customer requests
• Understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) and can work with both imperial and metric systems
