Western Digital is seeking a Trade Compliance professional who will be an integral member of the Global Logistics/Global Trade Operations team responsible for performing the following trade compliance activities

Requirements:

• Availability of schedule Full Time 08:00 - 17:00
• Bachelor's Degree in International Trade or any other equivalent expertise 
• 3-5 Years Import/Export global trade compliance experience
• General knowledge of global customs and trade compliance;
• Ability to work cross-functionally and collaboratively in a fast-paced, changing environment;
• Ability to identify issues and communicate them effectively
• Commitment to integrity, ethics, and building strong relationships
• Strong communication skills; including written and verbal skills with the ability to ask questions of anyone
• Attention to detail and an ability to follow through with tasks
• Must be flexible in adapting to changing program priorities, deadlines, tasks, and resource limitations.
• Motivated individual who is a self-starter, a cooperative team player, and who demonstrates a sense of urgency and initiative in determining and completing actions independently
• Must be willing to share workload and responsibilities cooperatively with other team members to satisfactorily accomplish all program requirements
• Excellent MS Office programs such as MS Excel, Word etc. ability to code is an added advantage

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Review transactions on system hold, review and analysis the reason for holds, follow the necessary escalation path and release the transaction holds.
• Able to perform Customs classifications (Harmonized Tariff Classification) and Export Control Classification (ECCN)
• Respond to day to day queries from internal business partners, customers and brokers on trade compliance related topics e.g. country of origin certificate, incoterms queries
• Support with trade programs e.g. Reconciliations and reporting, Transaction testing, duty drawback programs and others
• Able to run performance reports, identify opportunities for improvements and root cause analyze
• Ability to communicate and present overall performance, follow detailed work instructions and cross train peers
• Basic data analytics skills
• Any other trade support services that will be assigned
• Provide International Trade compliance training to company personnel
• Support in executing the Compliance assessment program
• Ability to develop customs ruling (BTI) requests
• Identify opportunities for process efficiencies
• Able to perform Country of Origin and Rules of Origin validations.
