Order Management Specialist - GGS
Manage daily order tracking tasks and communicate with suppliers, GGS contracted forwarder and internal contacts (Supplier Relationship Managers, Supplier Performance Analysts, Transportation Team) to handle order lifecycle activities and supplier shipment performance management. Specific duties include assisting in updating purchase order information (order acknowledgement, order bookings and order delivery), shipment plan tracking, supplier shipment performance management, as well as supporting ad hoc projects as needed. Other projects may be assigned.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree holder
• 1-3 years work-related experience (Supply Chain Management, Project Management, Data Analysis ...)
• English level: advanced conversational business
Job Activities:
The employee must be a specialist, among others, in the following functions:
• Manage & coordinate order lifecycle activities with suppliers:
• Share order forecast if necessary
• Support order acknowledgement
• Coordinate order changes (i.e. dates, quantities, locations, etc.)
• Push shipment bookings in advance
• Track shipment plan update
• Manage expedite requests including air freight arrangements
• Fix document discrepancy issues
• Coordinate payment discrepancy and due payment issues.
• Maintain contact with Inventory and Logistic teams.
• Monitor supplier shipping performance and escalate supplier performance issues to aligned Supplier Relationship Managers for improvement.
• Keep key stakeholders informed of any scheduling or shipping issues.
• Communicate with freight forwarders on logistics issues and delays around shipments and bookings.
• Communicate with Grainger Accounting Department on payment discrepancies and overdue payments.
• Assist with annual Social Responsibility / CTPAT activities.
• Demonstrate best practices by developing and managing working relationships with company personnel and suppliers to ensure an effective flow of product within the supply chain.
• Identify improvement opportunities in Grainger processes and communicate to appropriate personnel to improve efficiency.
• Provide feedback and guidance as needed to ensure suppliers conform to Grainger performance guidelines and report significant performance issues to Supplier Performance Analysts, Supplier Relationship Managers or GGS Leadership.
