The Materials Manager will collaborate cross-functionally with operations, logistics, and purchasing teams, implement best practices, and lead continuous improvement environment
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, Materials Management or any other related field
Requirements:
- 10+ years of experience in materials management, supply chain, or procurement.
- Prior leadership or management experience preferred.
- Experience with Lean methodologies for continuous improvement.
- Strong knowledge of ERP systems (SAP preferred).
- APICS certification (CPIM, CSCP) is a plus.
- Expertise in inventory optimization, materials planning, and purchasing.
Knowledge:
- In-depth understanding of materials planning, procurement, inventory control, and supplier management.
- Proficiency in SAP or similar ERP systems for material planning, forecasting, and data management.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and best practices in inventory optimization and cost reduction
- Familiarity with optimizing freight spend and supply chain logistics to improve efficiency.
- APICS certification preferred; familiarity with industry standards and practices.

Responsibilities:
- Ensure sufficient component materials are available across all locations.
- Optimize company-wide inventory levels while maintaining appropriate safety stock.
- Address critical shortages caused by supply or demand fluctuations.
- Lead Lean and continuous improvement projects within the supply chain function
- Track and report key inventory and materials KPIs to leadership.
- Develop and implement materials management settings and reporting strategies.
- Direct buyers in managing vendor releases for consistency, proper sourcing, and terms.
- Monitor and Guide production teams in optimizing materials settings for efficient operations.
- Manage commodity capacity and scheduling across multiple plants to ensure optimal flow.
- Coordinate material setups with SAP Data Administrator, ensuring accurate master data, purchase orders, and forecasting.
- Direct SAP Data Administrator in key company projects.
- Work with the logistics team to optimize freight spend and improve material supply strategies.
- Ensure adherence to customer and regulatory quality standards, including capacity analysis and compliance with customer scorecards.
- Provide guidance to teams on materials management and, if assigned direct reports, oversee hiring, performance management, and team development.
